Who knows of a good web host that for free (or a cheap price... under $10.00/mo.) gives you unlimited bandwidth, remote linking, at least 100 mb memory, PHP and SQL support (as well as cgi if possible), FTP, no ads, and maybe a special package like free code/stuff and/or a service of some kind. If no one knows of a host that can do this, give me the closest you know please! I am in desperate need of a good host!!!!

Dude, discount-hosting.com and cyberwings.com. Myacen had some good looking packages awhile ago, but you'd have to check them out. They were just starting up, so of course services were great and prices were low. They could've gone down the tubes for all I know.

Oh, and one thing about the whole "unlimited bandwidth". It's bullshit. There's no such thing as "unlimited bandwidth", otherwise Yahoo and Google would host their shit there for the low low price of $10-$15 a month.

"So what?" you may ask, "I won't ever use that much bandwidth anyway." Well, this is why you should care. First off, your host is lying to you, and it's unethical. Secondly, you'll be bound by a lot of other restrictions that you normally wouldn't have with a host that gives you a realistic allowance. For instance, with an "unlimited bandwidth" host, you probably won't be able to hot-link. Why? I don't know. They've apparently found the "magic fat pipe to the internet" which allows limitless transfers, so why they'd get all stingy with the hotlinking is beyond me. Also, from what I've read, they tend to be shadier. They'll delete your site out of nowhere for "violations". Coincidentally (yeah, right), this happens to people who use alot of their "unlimited bandwidth".

It's far far better to find a host that offers realistic amounts of bandwidth for the amount of cash your spending. This indicates that the host isn't overselling his own bandwidth too much, and you're more likely to get put on a less loaded server.

For the site you're planning, nbrosz, I seriously doubt you'll use more than 5 gigs/month, especially when you first go live. And if your site gets hugely popular, then e-mail your host and talk to them about it. They'll be more than happy to upgrade your account.
