Arcanum Release, Original vs Pirated

There is a early release of Arcanum, about 2 CDs, and I assume that this is the pirated version. What is the difference between the original and the pirated other that its authenticity and such because as some people follow the walkthrough from the demo, it is pretty much the same as the pirated one?

 

The explanation is very simple. One is legal version another is not.
So under the criminal law you are violating the paragraph (I don’t remember what number) which states that you are in possession of stolen goods. That means you didn’t obtain this particular item through legal means such as licensed distributors, you don’t have valid receipt to prove of legal transaction. So in light of this evidence you are guilty of having stolen properties.

Okay, thanks. I was just like wondering if there is any difference between the two aside the legalities since Sierra or whatever company responsible for it is releasing it a a latter date. But how did those other companies responsible for piracy ever get to publish those stuff?

There is in fact a code difference between the two. The warez version is a near-gold build - it is not the final version.

However, the most important thing is of course the legality.

Normally, for myself, I bought the pirated to play in my PC and the original for my own collection. There is no way I'm gonna play with the original CD.

The original Arcanum has the tight manual. If I'm buying Arcanum, it's more for the manual than the actual game. Ok, maybe I AM buying the game to actually play it...

I heard from the website (I'm not sure if it is Terra Arcanum or Dimensions of Arcanum or the official site) that there is already a pre-release of the game online. Have any of you guys bought it? Which is much cheaper?
