How do I get my shop keepers to buy things?


I have given them stuff to sell but they won’t buy anything from me

 

two things

One, make sure you are trying to sell the right kind of things to the shopkeeper--if they are items they are inherently disinterested in, they will not buy a thing from you. Also, be sure to have haggle if this continues, as enough training in haggle for your character will enable them to sell ice to an eskimo, so to speak.

two: (and this is what got me for awhile) make sure your shopkeepers have MONEY. If they have no $$ they cannot and will not buy anyhting from you.

This fixed my issues with the shopkeepers, hopefully it helps.

I can get them to trade buy chooseing a inventory sorce in the edit menu but then they only buy some things . I need someone who will buy almost anything like the guy in . the fisrt town you come to in arcanum. Sorry I cant mind the name right now

 

If the buy-sell relationship of a shopkeeper is as I theorize, and they will only buy items based upon what they sell, you may find yourself creating a geneal store, with the inventory source of "Junk Dealer". i believe that this is what Ristezze (Which is that one guy's name, BTW) is set for, although one of these people that have actually edited the scripts of Arcanum itself would be more knowledgable in that area then myself.

A junk Dealer should buy whatever you have, although not at the same price as a person that specializes in that field would be. (IE: Ristezze will buy a filament swrod from me for about 1K, but the magical smithy in tarant gopes up to 3,500.)
