if the parts are highlighted in yellow with a number at the bottom, it means you dont have a high enough skill in the area the part came from

I found the Tech Manuel seller, but one book only gives me 16 Tech Points in that area. So that means I will need 7 Tech Manuels to get to 100 Tp!!!! That will cost me 5250 gold!!!!!!! Has any one found a massive storage of Tech Manuels som were in the game, or will I have to go on a pick pocketing spree??

I'm pretty sure they manuals increase your skill in same number as your intellegence, so up your intellegence and go on a pick pocket spree

Or, you could simply use your character points to raise your tech level in those areas the normal way.... It may be easier :)

Yes, but in order to fill all the tech categorys I need, I would use most of my caracter points there, and would not have enough for other essentuals like FireArms. And Dexterity so I can raise all my other seconday skills. I'm almost a Master in Mechanics, but It will still take me a while to master gunsmithy, and still have point that are to be devoted to my percetion so I can shoot straighter (if that is a word). If I had enough cP I would just add them all, but I don't.

Well, I hope that there WILL be an Arcanum 2 that lets you go to level 100. That would solve alot of these problems, wouldnt it?

I read somewhere on this forum, or DoA, that the tech books increase your skill in that discipline by 2x INT.

Also, note that you don't need a mastery in the subject to create most schematics. You just need an appropriate level, depending on the difficulty of the schematic.

AMEN to the person who said that Arcanum 2 needs to go to the 100th level. 0:) As for the comment that Ferret made, I have found the opposite to be true. Josh was right when he said that the level of Intelligence you have will make the level of the Tech Point given to you. If only Tech was incressed by 2x.........

Thanks to Josh (and the other that contacted me by email) :D , I have made some progress. I now have a 20 in INT, and a Mastery in Mechanics. Now on to Electric, and Gunsmithy Disciplines.

PS to Ferret: Whats DoA?? Dead or Alive?!?! :minigun:

I don't know if anyone here has played Empire Earth, but maybe character creation could work like the civ bonus system - You're given heaps (note : hundreds) of points, then you have areas to put them into, but when you put them in the same area as previous points, the "CP price" jumps. Do you follow?

Hey, that sound like the original Fallout series "Skill Points" (a.k.a. S.P.E.C.I.A.L) system. (Does any one remeber the Small Guns, Big Guns, Energy Weapons, etc?!?)

PS: Seriously, does any one know were I could find a Teasla Rod?

ah Fallout, now there was a masterpiece of a game. and dont you have to make the Tesla rod? if not, just keep checking the tech store in Tarant, just go in and look, if he doesnt have it, just leave rest for one day and check again
