installation problem! plz help!

i love this game, recently iv upgraded my comp so i had to install arcanum again. now heres the problem, the installation stops at o seconds left, the program is still running but nothing happens.i really really want to play arcanum again! what do i do?

 

If it's at zero seconds left, does it actually run? Sometimes install programs just don't shut down properly or don't launch the game etc. but if all the files are installed then it might still run. You might have to create your own shortcut though because they are done last in the install and the autorun feature might not detect it's installed.

heres some new news, the installation stops at 0 seconds left and says exactly this: " error 1305 error reading from file
D:\sierra\arcanum\arcanum1.dat verify that the file exists and that you can access it"

Talking like that isn't going to get you anywhere. Check if the cd is scratched. Get a silk cloth and wipe the cd from the center to outer circle all around and try it again. If it still doesn't work, ask for a new cd.

 

Try uninstalling it, then check the registry - a ;ot of times games won't install again if the regitry still has the old install on it - this is a real problem with the Sims games - be care fule though (Start - run -regedit then check the "software components for the Arcanum registry) I'm sure someone else knows what to do better than I.
