The Disappearing Virgil

How long does it usually take Virgil to show up at the Sobbing Onion? Is there something I need to do to trigger his reappearance? The thieves are there, but no virgil. I'd rather have his 'Zen-Virgil' form rather then the old virgil as well, so I don't want to kill the thieves.

 

After Virgill leaves you, you should be able to go straight to the Sobbing Onion and find him there.
If not, I think it's a patch problem.

 

Did it make a difference that he didn't leave me untill later? I didn't talk to him untill much later after the dark elf village, and I talked to him in Caladon which was when he left.

 

That should not have happened. Virgil leaves after the dark elves be initiating the dialogue himself. Did you leave the dark elves while in combat mode? If you do that then Virgil will never leave.

 

No, if you leave with the elves angry at you or leave any alive, YOU have to talk to virgil first to get him to leave, not him talk to you automatically. I read it in a FAQ somewhere, I don't remember where.

 

Um, where are you getting the 'answer your own question' mutterings? My question was how long does it take for him to come back to the sobbing onion. He didn't leave me in the cemetary, no. I talked to him outside of a shop in Caladon to trade with him and he went on with his whole sob story about leaving and such.
