am i the only one who wonders what the hell is up with the man with the monkeys?

on the elven side of the mountains... at a place called small pond... it's actually right above the little figure of the monkeys...

 

There is something wrong with him. Something really wrong with him.

 

but does he serve a purpose? is there any reason why i shouldn't kill him?

is there some way to get a trained monkey of my very own... :smile:

No. You can't get your own monkey, but you can get your own cold-blooded lizard man. Which would you rather. I don't think he has any reason in the game, but I think I got a really good item from his chest. I can't remember.

You can say nothing to that monkey trainer guy. Even if you run up to him and try to talk before fighting. I got him to say Er? but then the little monkeys start attacking me and I have to exterminate everything. No real purpose to him except that his house has a nice Arcane chest with goodies...

I don't think the "er" qualifies as actual dialogue with the monkey trainer. Heck, I've had slither snakes say "er" to me before I was in range for them to attack.

I would think the monkey trainer must have some purpose, though I don't know what it is. Maybe some rare side quest?
