Don't know about Gunslider but Gunslinger is a lots of fun though it is hard to get the development right in the beginning.
i'd say battlemages, because of their flexibility. and haste rocks  _________________ [ This Message was edited by: HED854 on 2002-02-23 04:27 ]
Haggle/Gambling/Spot Trap Master. Be sure to max out your CHA and PER. Don't use any followers. Kill them as soon as you meet them. Save Dog, but make him wait in one spot the entire game. As far as weapons go, only use potatoes and lemons. Fire them from a short bow.
Feldon!!! Brat!!! Most of my characters have had some thieving skills to be able to better equip earlier in the game without running a hack and also had high dodge skill. With a little patience and a backpack full of endurance potions, Battle Mages are awesome, not to mention the bonus of being able to teleport from place to place. There are some fine weapons to be made for a gunslinger; but the elephant gun will get you by most circumstances until you can create better. The most fun for me was a melee/dodge character with pyroaxe. There's something about getting personal that is more gratifying. Whatever style you settle on, keeping your health up and your followers alive can be trying. The more techie, the less chance for a magical healing or resurrection to work. For my techs, I trained up healing, carried bandages and a couple elixers of life.
What do you mean by a "battlemage"? I wanted to develope my female half-elf into a mage but ended up boosting up my combat skills because the earlier battles were so tough. Now I have a Level 40 fighter / mage that throws a few lightning bolts at the enemy before making into mince meat with my magic sword.
gunslinger/thief/demolitionist nothing quite like destroying the opposition before it gets within 10 ft of you... and who wants to pay for anything anyway?
