You meet him when you reaquire Virgil in the Sobbing Onion cellar after you meet the dark elves.

Or, if you take the evil path, he comes to beat on your ass after you commit a certain horrific act.

He doesn't always come after you do that evil deed. At least he didn't when I played my evil character. Or maybe I just managed to luckily avoid him somehow?

Hmm... I don't know JAGeek. Maybe you didn't completely er... complete the evil deed?

I don't know, I've never taken that path anyway. I just read that he's supposed to show up sometime after and lay the beating on your evil ass.

Oh, I completed it alright. Not a soul was living. Not even the Dodge Master. (But not til I used him to train me. After that, "there can be only one!")

Well, went back and looked through the Quest Walkthrough on the site, and it said Joachim would appear on the Caladon bridge to stop ya. I know I was in Caladon. (Had to so I could further the plot) But at the time I took that path, it was a month ago or something, so I don't exactly remember every single place I went. Could have been I just never went on the bridge.

The "evil deed" is this: Kill each and every person in the town of Stillwater.

Well, like I said before, I've never taken this path myself. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here...

When you get to the T'sen Ang, you have to decide whether you want to be good (kill Min Gorad and side with the elves in Qintarra), or bad (side with the Dark Elves). If you side with the Dark Elves, you have to go to Stillwater and kill everyone in order to advance the storyline.

I think by the time you get to T'sen Ang, you only get offered to join if your alignment is already negative. I don't remember it coming up when I went there with any of my "good" guys.

Oh wow!! I had no idea about this entire storyline! (Of course, I don't intend to play evil at any point, so I'll just enjoy vicariously.)

About Joachim - Virgil has never left me, even after the dark elves. We fought our way out of the dark elf village and someone else mentioned that at that point, he'll take off if I talk to him, but he never did. How did I bypass this whole moment of drama? At this point, I'm about to enter the wastes and he's never even mentioned leaving. Of course, he's ridiculously infatuated with me (reaction of 140 or so), so I can understand that. ;>

There are certain triggers that must be done in order to advance vigils' story line.

A couple things that I could think of would be that you don't pick up the telegram in tarant or the journal in stillwater. Or didn't have virgil around when you were in the graveyard in caladon. However, I did all three and he still didn't leave me until the second visit to T'sen Ang. The first time might have been because when we exited we got involved with Maug Maulmen and helping them fight the guards at the gate. Also interesting was that Virgil never actually died even when I found him in the sobbing onion. I knew beforehand so I went down there with invisibilty on and he started fighting the guys and was winning! Then me and the rest of the party joined in and made short work of the ruffians. Virgil never died but talked, acted, and everything else happened like he did. What a glitch huh?
