Today, i decided that it'd be a good idea to finally master persuasion. 3 levels later, and i've got 18 charisma, and a full persuasion skill bar. Imagine my dissapointment when Willosboury won't give me the quest! What else do i need to do so he will?
now..tell me where can I find that Mr.Will... and what is that quest about?I have charm 20,persuasion expert with 5 points. Is he that major in ashbury??
... He's in the City Hall/Department of water/Hall of Records at the north end of TARANT. You know..what with his house being there.
oh...i see...... But have you done that quest in Ashbury . Quest in which one you need to answer all the questions in right order so the poeple can build some kind of statue??well i can't solve that quest but i think it is cos' my int. is just 9.Is int in connection with dialogue options?
I assume that you are already an expert of persuasion. If not go to madam lil to get there. As to your problem with Will's you either have a bug or you picked the wrong dialogue branch. I had the dialogue option to ask to be his rep even with 12 cha and no persuation skills except for a disentegrate spell hotkeyed
In case the answers haven't been quite what you need, here's what I know.. You have to successfully talk to the Ashbury citizens about the statue. You have to have a fair amount of int and/or wis. I don't know what the thresholds are. I know for a fact 9/9 won't do it. I'd guess a combined total of 24 would be enpugh, but don't quote me. After that, I'm pretty sure you have to go to Caladon. I don't know if any particular activity has to be done in Caladon at this point. Returning to Tarant, Mr. W. will be in the NE room on the ground floor of the city hall. You need to have a high persuasion level to get the quest from him. Again, I don't know for sure what the requirement is, but I'd bet all 5 points of persuasion are needed (reuirement for becoming master). Expert level may also be needed. Some skills can be trained to Master from Apprentice, but not many. A side note, I did the negotiations with 20 charisma and 5CP/expert persuasion. I gave Bates limited freedom and gave Caladon taxes on their trade routes for 3 years. Everything else I did the extreme for Tarant and Mr. W. gave me 11000 gold and made me an ambassador. I did lesser amounts of the extreme demands 3 or 4 times and got just 7000. Hope this helps.
Ah... I don't think i did the statue quest. As far as i can remember, i wondered off to get a drink, and when i came back, the Mayor said the meeting was over, glowered at me, and left. Thank you all for your help though.
I did not do the statue quest, but did get the master quest. The character had 18 CH and 5 pts in persuasion (12 int iirc). In the end (I was a mage) I gave Mages full freedom and gave Tarant some pretty good deals on most other things. 7000 was my reward. [ This Message was edited by: LostSoul on 2002-02-13 00:18 ]
HEY!HEY! YOU TOLD ME THAT MR.Will....IS MASTER OF PERSUASION.BUT HE'S NEVER HOME IN TARANT.ONLY WHEN YOU FINISH QINTARRA QUEST HE IS IN TARANT AND HE SAYS TO MEET HIM IN THE CITY HALL.BUT,IS THERE ANY WAY TO BECOME A MASTER OF PERSUASION BEFORE QINTARRA AND ISLE OF D.(I mean,is there any way to meet with him before that quests.Somebody told me that he's spending some time in Ashbury/caladon)?
Going back to the question at the top, a maxed out persuasion bar, totally full, should allow you to get the quest, assuming you currently have expert standing. Get him to start talking about politics in Arcanum and he should talk about Caladon being ready to join the U.K. and him needing an ambassador. I'm just assuming you didn't go down that dialog path.
Here's another hint, having gone through this particular quest by trial and error (and spoilers) for way too long. Remember that your *effectiveness* at a skill is not just determined by the number of skill points but by the attribute that governs that skill. So a maxed out Persuasion might not be enough once you start negotiating with the Caladon council. (Remember what Persuasion is based on?)
I did that persuasion quest very easy. Whatever they asked you(council in caladon),just answer with first(at the top)sentence.Well,I did that and i got 11,000 gold and hell fo a exp.
