what do i do with the stolen painting?

the psycic women (pard my english) in the big city gave me a tip, that i can find the stolen painting in 57 something (i don't remember the name of the st.)

well, i took it and don't know what to do with it. does someone has a clue?

 

Go to the adress and take the painting.
Check the newspapers headlines. There will certainly be one of em which is dealing with a missing/stolen painting. The newspaper will mention (I think) the adress of the owner. go there and give back the painting to earn some xps and money

 

The house you are supposed to return the painting to is the Garringsburg residence across and down from the Wellington Club. However, if you can reload and go to the house and then return the painting before doing the Beston/Troussaud quest. Her blessing is much better than a lousy adress.

 

Caution!

Since you have the painting already before getting the "Stolen Painting" quest, you'll need to do this... or suffer a drop in reputation.

If you just walk into the house, ask the woman and get the quest, then give her the painting right away, she'll think you're a thief, stealing the paiting then returning it for rewards. Walk outside then return won't help. Wait for a while before returning might work (haven't tried), but here's how I do it: let one of your followers carry the painting. Then have this follower wait. Walk in and take the quest. Ask your follower to join up. Then finish the quest.

I did just like this (and painting was in my inventory) and she was still happy so it's not a rule.

 

Right. I don't know if you have to have a certain persuasion rank, i don't think you do, but just tell her that you've found the painting, and you're only returning what is her's and don't want a reward. She'll give you double! Much better deal. And, if it's not too far back, load to before you accepted the info from Madame Toussande. Talk to Delores Betson, go to M. Toussande, side with her and deliver the ball to Betson, get the painting and return it to Mrs. Garringsburg, then return to M. Toussande, tell her you've already found the painting, and she'll give you the gypsy blessing, +1 to your charisma.

Or...If you are member of the underground you can sell it on black market/get exp and money but your aligment will drop!
