The Mod Squad is about to make your dreams come true  We just released RedView and ART2BMP, with RedView you will be able to see any kind of ART files (supports multi-framed ARTs) and ART2BMP will let you convert any ART files into BMPs (supports multi-framed and multi-paletted ARTs). This is the first step on the ART researching process, now, our next release will surely be a beta of the ART file specifications and then we will start making the glorious "ARTed", so you can import your own art into Arcanum. Enjoy!
Three Cheers for the Mod Squad! Yeah, I've already found these tools useful. You guys are great, all of the mod-makers appreciate such efforts. All the more effort we can put into the main part of the mod, the better!
Ack! Ok...I'm an Arcanum editing n00b...but not a n00b to editing. I just started checking out WorldEd and the only thing that really bugged me about the program (besides the absence of an "undo" function) was the inability to add my own art files/facades. Anyway, I read this thread and I say "oh, that sounds interesting" I check out the site only to find that ti is closed with no forwading address, email contact, or promise of reopening soon. I can therefore assume that whatever helpful tools were on the Mod Squad site are gone. So heres my dilemma. I want to make new facades for Arcanum but how can I go about doing this? I'm sure theres got to be a hard way to do it...theres always a hard way involving lots of file hacking and hands on stuff. If theres an easy way involving a nifty GUI that would be cool too. Anything to get some new facades in the editor would be very cool. - Lord Dakushna dakushna@mindspring.com
The Mod Squad is not closed. Terra-Arcanum's new server doesn't support the format that their webpage uses yet. Not sure when they will back but they will be back.
Search doesnt work I tried several search engines as well as ftp searches and all bmp2art and art2bmp searches give me are either links to Arcanum news sites or to some Duke Nukem .art file editor. So scratch searches as an option. -Lord Dakushna
TMS is not dead... We're just too busy to keep working :/ 2 years ago it was easier, we had plenty of time, we were younger, and we had a big team. Now things different. The website cant run because we need PHP, we're looking for a new host.. Dunno what will happen until then. Making a BMP2ART wouldn't be hard, with my ART doc and some C skills anybody could make one (you still need a little bit of research, but, it's not impossible). So, ask your local programmer!
PHP does actually work on the web accounts on the new server... Modworld uses PHP as well. What exactly are you guys having trouble with? Maybe I can help... <font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by: Calis on 2002-02-24 12:15 ]</font>
Aaaaaaaaaah! Well, I'm very very sorry about that, then. All scripting was disabled site-wide, but it got fixed pretty quickly... but I forgot to e-mail you guys about it. Sorry 'bout that...
Duke Nukem is ok, though the name of the file is corrupted. You'll find the correct one via Explorer. It's bmartm.zip not bmartI.zip, or s.th. like that.
Are you saying that the Duke Nukem ".art" format is the same as that used by Arcanum? I woulda thought that to be really unlikely! js
