    From what I understand if you get a dog as a party member in the game it will level up. Do all companions level up? Even the built ones? (mechanical spider)

    Spiders dont level up.
    Familiars level up but starting power depends on magickal aptitude.

    Mind controlled level up if you can keep them but you lose them on the world map.

    If a mechanical spider can't level up, then gradually it will become more useless. Can it be upgraded?

    Also, Can non - familiar animal party members level up?

    *MILD SPOILERS*

    I'm pretty sure you can find schematics to upgrade the clockwork decoy and mechanical spiders. You might even be able to build automatons!

    Ummm, the fact that mech spiders don't level won't necessarily make them useless - cannon fodder is useful regardless of their level...*eg*

    Seeing some of the tech that has come out and been talked about in this game reminds me of the movie "Wild, Wild ,West" with Will Smith, but just without the magical side to it.

    The most disgusting part of that movie was when the guy in the wheel chair started talking about the 34 and a half feet of ...
    (At this point Amos vomits violently) Anyway yes Troika do use a lot of stuff in the game that makes little sense but if you didn't have Tesla guns,coils, super glasses, The elephant gun, The hand cannon, almost every single smithy item, half breeds ,The electric ring, the electric jacket and those little auto beings the game would be dull
