I am in the crypt trying to recover the gem and solve the zombie puzzle (Ashbury). At the end I encounter these things called "Gore Guards". I have 70 hit points and they kill me with one shot every time. If they even get near me a tombstone appears on my screen. HOW do I get by these guys? It appears though they do 10-100 points of damage every time they hit -they seem impossible to get by -and I have it on easy.
"Discuss anything you like in here, but no spoilers please. Only registered users can post in this forum." That's the general discussion's description, tell me, what is it, it that description. Tell me which part of it you don't understand? This thread will be moved to the tips and tricks board shortly.
Okay Jinxed, settle down now. Get up, have some coffee and take some sedatives while you're at it. As to your question, stun grenades/any explosives are good. Turn-based is essential. Also, make sure you have the dog. Much easier to kill the gore guards if you have the dog. Stun the GG's, let everyone beat on them, as soon as they become 'unstunned', let loose with another stun grenade (I'm assuming you have some here).
heh poor harassed Jinxed. He's *always* forced to write the *exact* same thing... go away if you're a moron, don't make Jinxed yell at you because it makes me feel sad.
I don't know if it's that much of a spoiler, really. In a nonlinear RPG, you can expect varying difficulty of locations. Some places, you'll just have to come back to when you're more capable of dealing with that situation. What you're talking about is one of them.
Makes you feel bad? He's the one who yells at me for doing the exact same thing that he does...Talk about stealing my hunting grounds...
He yells at me for things like my "what time is it" post... even thought it's a legitamate question. But poor Jinxed is harassed and overworked... so I forgive him (acts magnanimous)
ARRRRGH! I've said it so many times, but I'll say it again : Make your followers wait out of sight of the monsters (around a corner). Let the monster see you and then run back toward your followers. Run through your followers toward a cleared area of the labyrinth. Stay just ahead of the monster. Your followers will fall in behind the monster and attack it from behind. And Waite, it sounds like you need to go up a few levels, too.
Feldon's last sentence says it all... Why try to go that far into the game at such a low level? All it does is frustrate you.
People often get distracted on this forum. For example when someone asks for help another mentions about a band and the rest of the thread is about the band. Anyway, Gore Guards are so weak they get killed with 2 of my harms and dont let him get near you cause he will harm ur armor.
Well getting a little further I just realized you can put armour on your followers. I went through the sewers, racked up a lot of experience and got a lot of money and then equipped my guys with plate mail. Into the dungeon I go. You need to be at least 22 level to handle the Lord's Slaves in the haunted castle. Those things are awful. But I did find the equilizer -potion of haste. Getting 6 attacks a round will take care of just about any creature.
i think that it depends on your weapon... if you'll use the balanced sword you'll get somethig like 7-10 swings per turn!(also depends on your DX)
For magic: I'm a big fan of haste combined with the electric sheild. For Tech: Grenades always help. You can combine them with the potion of agility and the magical electric hat. Basically, you just have to tough it out.
asenathwaite, you JUST realized you can put armour on followers? what the hell have you been doing all game?
