who can wear what armor?

I am trying to find some sort of listing of the characters and who can wear what armor. I dont know if it exists but i am having a hard time figuring out if my characters can wear certain armor before i purchase it. if there is such a list or could someone tell me how this all works in this game that would be great,

I don't know if there's a list but: dwarves and halflings are small; humans, half-elves, and elves are medium/regular; half-ogres are large. I don't know about lizard men, gnomes, or half-orcs.

 

Ok, here we go:

SMALL -> dwarf, halfling, gnome
NORMAL -> human, elf, half-elf
LARGE -> half-ogre

-> lizard men can't wear armour AFAIK
-> half-orcs can only wear SOME normal armour. the more "open" varieties (ie - Dread Armour, Barbarian Clothes, etc...)

did i miss anything?

 

how can i tell in the stores which armor is small, medium or large? does it tell you somewhere when you scroll over it?

It does.

 

yup. such as ->
"Large Leather Armour"
"Small Leather Armour"
"Leather Armour"

so, if it says nothing in front, it's normal size. with a couple exceptions. "Gnomish" and "Dwarven" armour is small. :wink: but i'm sure more ppl figured that out by thinking about it real hard first.

one more question..i am looking for large armor to fit sogg-the big drunk guy from shrouded hills. where can i find some to fit him. thanks

 

You just have to look. However, there is mystic leather armor in the sewers of Caladon, I believe. Caladon or Ashbury. It's in a barrel, and Sodd Mead Mog wears that armor, and it's great.

 

In the beginning equip him with Large Guard Leather. Later in the game equip him with Large Elite Plate Mail(I forgot), and it is located on 2 ogres protecting the guy who won Edward Teach's ship. That happens very late in the game(near the end).

 

If you develop smithy you can make armors of all sizes, including large ones. Thus you can make Feather Weight Chain for Sogg and Elite Plate later on. Remember though that you need Leather Armor for Feather Weight Chain - Guard Leather Armor Doesn't work.

 

personally i prefer to give Sogg "Large Arcane Leather". almost as good as "Large Elite Plate", but a lot lighter.

 

I played with a half-orc and he could wear all normal size armors.Well art least the ones I tried.

 

yea i cant wear Dread armor and im a half orc, anyone know why?? please answer this is really bugging me!!

 

I love the legitimate gravedigs, as the years roll by they'll only get longer.

Phatpat, is the armour the right size? There should definitely not be anything prohibiting a Half-Orc from wearing Dread Armour.
