After waiting so long for my copy of Arcanum, I am hit by immense disappointment: Every tile is half black. The bottom half of each tile is black, intersected through the center of the black by normal color. It doesn't cripple the game, but it does hinder my sight and my enjoyment of the scenery. What's causing this and how can I fix it?
hmm I had some graphical problems when I tweaked my video card settings. What kind of card do u have? I have a GF 2 MX. All I remember, is checking things in the setting properties that would give my games more visual quality. Then, I go to play the game, and I have black lines and stuff. So, I went back, and set the card to concentrate on maximizing performance in the settings and stuff, and the game seemed fine. I also think I changed the display color settings. I know that some games work better in either High Color 16-bit mode or 256 Color. I have mine set at 16-bit color/800x600. Sounds like a insignifcant trivial thing but I got a couple newer games where this actually matters. You probably just need to mess with yer settings. Concentrate more on performance than better looking graphics.
Thanks. I lowered my card's amount of hardware acceleration used and changed my color depth from 24-bit to 16-bit and the black things disappeared. One of them apparently worked, but I dunno which.
Diddelidum! Turn of hardware acceleration by running Arcanum under "safemode" from your popup menu! That should take care of your triangles, but you may experience more slowdowns. Hope that helps! - Zen
I had this problem too and quite concidentally,I was expecting arcanum but I was disapointed because of those triangles and I have two questions now. 1stly,does running under safe mode cause the game to lag? 2ndly,what graphics card are you using, eiryn?
