Is it worth it to use Patch 1.0.7.4 ??

I'm still using the original boxed set CD which does have annoying bugs, but also allows you to use the money cheat. I'm going to replay the game with a new PC, so would appreciate any opinions on whether to Patch or not. Thanks.

Get the patch. If fixes many 'bugs' and problems that the game has. People keep going on about how technologists need so much more money than other characters. That's bullshit, they just don't know how to play games :wink:. Nah, making money as a technologist is easy. I've completed the game twice as a technologist, and I never had any money problems.

 

I would have to agree with jarinor on this just selling explosives (just selling the darn explosive granades were making me 1k a pop and you can make 3 at a time :smile: )

 

1074 patch also introduced some new bugs for some people. Personally I have no problems with it so far. If you will have problems then just use 1070.


As for techies and money. You will only get rich if you have explosives, electricity or mechanical. If you decide to develop for example Herbology better learn search wilderness for food.

 

Getting one or two ranks in Haggle isn't a bad idea to help make you money as well.

Gunsmithy can also give you some cash if you can find the parts - you don't usually make money off buying them yourself.

 

Gunsmithy isn't sucha lucrative discipline since:

1. Parts are often expensive
2. Shopkeepers don't want to buy most of the special guns especially ones made with custom schematics.
