Hey all, got some questions if ya don't mind...

I'm a techy (I will KILL all you evil vile thingies and people who play with magic!) and I've been picking up papers that say like, Um, stuff. (can I be even MORE vague?) But papers that have gears on them and say stuff about making guns or something. I stole one from Bate's house after talking to him about the first quest I got from him... but I can't read it, it seems. I can't do anything with it, but I've found others like these at stores and such... WTS? (What The Spank... i made that up myself. I'm cool, ain't I?)

Anyways, on to question dose...

I went to.. i ferget, but a guy asks me to get some of this armor from this mad scientist or something, so I said sure, yeah, ok, fine, whatever. So I go in there, get attacked by a mechanical spider... fine, so I go through the trapdoor and I get attacked by a robot thingie. That was cool. And I open the chest, take out the nifty mechanical armor. Neato Freato. I go back to the man, and I say, "risking my life was worth more then 200 coins" and I get him up to 400. But then I realized... hey, that was cool armor. So I pick pocketed the friggin idiot for the armor... that doesn't seem right that i should be able to pick pocket someone for such a large piece of shtuff.... anyways, that wasn't the question... but this armor is BASIC mechanical armor... hmmm... how does one get like, advanced mechanical armor? I want s'more armor thingies, man!

All you techies, make some noise! Help a buddy out!

uh, then I guess my last question is... no wait, this is my third to the last question...

at the Isle of dispair, I agreed to a quest to kill a "magical beast" from the guard. They said it lived up north? north on the island? Cuz I clicked like, a half a dozen way points on the map and walked all over that friggin' island and didn't ever run into no beast! I did kill a bunch of women... dream come true, i tell ya. And ran into that guy... I forgot his name... and that Beach er whatever and got the "ancient gun chasis" from what's his name...

but no stupid magical beast! Do you think they were talking about the land north of the isle?

Ok, if you're still reading this, you RAWK! Cuz I know I babble sometimes, but hey, I like lettuce.

And the last question...
Virgil... good guy, but I think I messed him up somehow. He's suppose to be like, a magic dude, right? ok, and at first he 'd heal me and junk, but now that I'm... level... what comes after 5? Anyways, but his healing don't work no moh on me. Which I guess I can udnerstand... but before he'd also do some magical attacks, but now, after time for some reason, all he's doing is melee attacks. Is it because I gave him armor to wear? Should I strip him and only give him like, all magic stuff so he can build more on his magic talents??????????????????????????? (there are 27 question marks there)

ok, i just figured out that the pieces of paper are schematics...

hehe...

soo... how do I use them or read them or wutever?

 

Drag them over to the "Use" slot on the right hand side of the interface. It looks like a hand and it's right above the "Drop" icon.
For better armor, learn better schematics!
The beast is on the Isle of Despair. Head around the lefy side of the prison, across the "moat", and look for footprints. Follow the footprints to the beast's lair. You can't find the prints in Worldmap.
Virgil will melee most of the time anyway. And you may be too tech for him to heal you.

should I take all the tech related stuff, like fancy armor (i think that's what it's called) away from Virgil and buy only magic jazz for him?

 

I would. He can't use the Tech stuff to its full potential anyway, and it might critically fail on him.
It really depends on his Magickal Apptitude. If it's very high, definitely give him Magick items.

 

The more you align your character upon the path of technology, the more difficult it is for Virgil to heal you with magic; however you can equip him with bandages and he will use "mortal" (non magical) healing skill on you which still works. Good to remember if Virgil needs to resurrect your character. With a tech character he will succeed with that res elixer; but usually fail when using a res scroll. This holds the same for you. As you advance, you will notice the availability of magic percentage steadily drop on most items. My tech characters can burn up a dozen resurrection scrolls and never get a res, whereby that elixer seems to always work.

I usually equip Virgil with Dread Armor early in the game due to its durability. His attacks are pure melee unless I equip him with something of magic that also can cast magic.

 

well if ur a techie, dump Virgil and get dog,
magnus or Jayna coz Virgil will only be a liability later when u have a very high tech aptitude. just my 2 cents...

as for the schematic u found in Bates mansion, its just a quest item but the resulting gun u can get by messing with the files by undat.
