I watched Arrival recently, and was complaining the whole way through that it was so dark I could barely see anything. Even scenes that are set outside in daylight. Ugh, come on.

Now I just started watching that Teen Titans Netflix show, and in the very first scene a girl is in bed at night, and her mother comes into the room, and turns the light on, and it's still murky and dark. I mean, what the hell? Why? I mean, I assume someone picked out the costumes for the characters to wear, and someone had to set up that whole bedroom, and for what? IT'S ALL SO BADLY LIT THAT WE CAN'T SEE ANYTHING, MORONS. Then to top it off, as the mother is leaving, the sound editor added a click sound of her turning the light off, BUT THE SCENE LIGHTING DOESN'T CHANGE AT ALL. Like, literally, you hear the click, but the shot doesn't change. BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY SO DARK THEY COULDN'T FEASIBLY MAKE IT ANY DARKER.

Anyway, as I was ranting about this out loud while sitting by myself, and wondering whether my neighbours could hear me, I realised - this is it. I'm an old man now. I'm just going to be annoyed at everything for the rest of my life. Goddamn kids, making TV shows and movies that I can't see.

Is this in relation to the 20-year milestone you just reached here?

I recently discovered that all door frames have mind erasing devices hidden them, but they have no effect on people under 40 years of age.

Since November, every time I've walked into a room I have found myself mumbling: "I came in here for a reason. What was it again?"

Spoiler alert: Next you will find that in order to read small text on objects, you have to move them further away from your eyes.

Yeah, 20 years at T-A. I've been here for roughly 54% of my life.

And I've noticed all of the things you've mentioned. I find that I prefer to take off my glasses when I read, door frames might as well transport you to Narnia, and lamps aren't as bright as they used to be.

Also, young people these days are stupid.

I'm only 35, but a lot of the kids I work with act like I got one foot in the grave.

Here's to another 20 years DE!

An old guy I worked with warned me of this so I was prepared for it to happen, and it has happened.

It has occurred to me that knowing what the Magic 8-ball might qualify an individual as old, but I have yet to test the hypothesis.

Spoiler alert: Next up, your dick - shall we say - loses its enthusiasm.

On the plus side, I was able to watch the Teen Titans show by turning the brightness on my monitor way up. It's annoying to have to do this every time I watch that one particular show, and then turn it back down again afterwards for everything else, but still, maybe I have another few years in me yet.

Actually, the TV show is terrible, as you may have heard. Although the characters are all clearly adults, so at least that's staying true to the original George Perez illustrated comics.

I say "clearly", but nothing is clear in that show, as previously mentioned. Also, it's terrible.

Just realized I've been here - on and off - since Aug 2003 as well. First found this place because of Bloodlines. Reached my 20 years about two months ago.

Much later you MAY go yelling to some kids that they need to get off the lawn.
