Well gentlemen, I don't want to celebrate too early, but it appears that the hot chocolate wars may be won.

After many consecutive days of hot chocolatelessness, I had an opportunity late in the evening, on my way out of the office, to strike a blow for justice. Nobody else was around, so I casually walked into the barista area, took the hot chocolate tin that rightfully belongs to the kitchen, and moved it back to its assigned spot in the kitchen. Then I went home, thinking no more about it.

The next day, that hot chocolate tin had gone from the kitchen again. But, my friends, I did behold a thing of wonder in its place. An extra large tin of hot chocolate stood before me! 750g of pure chocolate powder! Well, I mean, it's not pure chocolate, it's probably like 50% sugar and then some preservatives and anti caking agents and whatnot. But that's not the point.

The point is that this isn't the end of the tale. For over in the barista station there were two tins of hot chocolate next to each other! It was a veritable bonanza of hot chocolate! There was much rejoicing in the kitchen that morning, by which I mean I smiled a little.

These events happened mere days ago, and the larger tin of hot chocolate is still there today, so I conclude that this is the new normal, the kitchen and barista will have their own separate supplies from now on, and never again shall I suffer the indignity of having to walk down to the floor below to get hot chocolate.
