Why the hell does this petition require my mailing address?

Where have you seen that Obsidian has interest in the Arcanum universe? Is this fake news?

 

And the BAFTA for the Most Spam-Like Non Spam Post goes to...

 

I hate to be that guy, but an online petition to convince somebody to "lease" a valuable IP?

How naive are you? Do you understand how companies and economics work? The only value I'm seeing here is showing interest, and frankly the problem with most developers is executing a quality game design. Not the idea itself.

This post came off more negative than I intended; Everyone here would like to see Arcanum live on in some fashion or another. But I'm not sure what this is going to accomplish.

 

Did an admin remove our most welcome newcomer's post, or did they do it themselves?

 

I'm skeptical that our guest has the sense of humor to do that to himself.

It feels a little bad that there was a collective shit taken on this guy, as far as I know both GOG and Reddit still have threads for a similar topic. I signed it, but then again I anticipate that many horrible internet deviants probably have my details already. As far as I can tell, it wasn't maliciously intentioned, even if details will be used by third parties and such a petition is unlikely to influence anyone ever.

 

IIRC Accountkiller is an app or service or something that deletes information from sites you register at for privacy reasons. I wouldn't cry too hard for our nameless friend.

At first I thought that was a pretty clever wordplay mocking my name, but it turns out that actually the correct way to spell "philistines."

Guys, guys, I don't want to alarm you, but the petition only needs 22 more signatures!!!!!!!!

Then, Activision are going to get it and be like, "Whoa, even though we had that internal meeting about what to do with the Arcanum IP and we decided to sit on it, those signatures from 200 random people on the internet saying we should license it to Obsidian have completely blown my mind! I mean screw my knowledge and experience as a video games industry veteran, if 200 retro-gamers care about a game there's got to be at least a fat $100 we can make off that IP! Susan, clear my afternoon schedule, and by God get Obsidian on the phone! We have some things to discuss..."

And then, then, we get Arcanum 2!!!! In fact, I'd say it pretty much confirms 3 and 4 as well!!!

Are you excited?!?!?!?!?!!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?
