Or if you right click on any of your followers pictures you get a menu with all the commands for that follower....like attack!, or back off, etc....

 

I cast Terrorize on Virgil before I ever invited him to join me and he said that exact same line. I do think it is his brave sir robin ran away away line.

 

Virg said "this is just too much" or somethign to that affect last night. We were in the middle of a fight or just finished when he said that and this fight was any different than ones we have done a dozen times already and with the same number of odds. Odd!

 

Even if I tell Virgil to "back off", like when he`s standing in the middle of heated battle against some powerful enemy, he stops attacking, wich is good. But he just stands there doing nothing, wich is bad! He heals himself for the fatigue amount he has left and then dies. Why doesn`t the bugger retreate some distance. Friggin annoying!!

I had Virgil say 'I don't think I like you anymore' and 'I don't want to travel with you anymore' and he proceeded to try an attack me.

Also, Sogg was saying something like 'you are not a very nice person for attacking creatures with a good soul'.

its probably for attacking creatures who are nice to you

 

yeah, when you kill someone good your reaktion seems to drop with good NPC, and if you do this enough, they'll either leave, or attack(it goes down to hatred).

 

The funny thing is I'm not the one that is initiating the attack though. I guess word gets around the town awfully darn quick once you've done a bad act though.

If you've done something that has pissed the townsfolk off bad enough that everyone hates you, is there any way that you can atone for your sins and start getting on their good side again without having to restore a saved game?

 

i've read that spending a fate point can change someones opinions drastically.

or the charm spell, just as long they aren't attacking you on sight.

in that case you can probably do something good for the town and the reaction might get better.

i know that in the beta a half orc with a beauty of 1 would get attacked on sight in SH

and then you could probably charm them all, and have a city with reactions of 50 +

an other way is the smoking jacket, those extra 20 in reaction might be just enough to get you from hatred to disslike.

 

At least with a reaction of 'dislike', you can talk to people sometimes and have their regard towards you change to a low neutral.

I have never gotten hatred until i attack the person

 

its not that hard to get really, perhaps in the SH region of the world, but i got some pretty nasty in tarant.

mostly when i had a bad reaction from the start, and told them to piss off when they said something bad against me.

anyway i had merchant go down to hatred often when i tried to robb them, or would gamble a little too much.

 

Thats wierd though, the more you win gambling the more they hate you? Oh wait human nature forgeot about that

 

I think Virgil is a bit picky. He starts to dislike me when my Law rating is high, but Sogg is happy about it though.

Does anyone know if you have to keep a neutral outlook to keep Virgil through the game, or is this just a possible bugg?

 

I think Virgil is the archetypal 'neutral' character in Arcanum. He's pretty much designed to accompany almost any type of player, so he remains relatively neutral in the magick/tech stakes, and I'm guessing he does the same for his personal alignment.

 

I do not agree at all.If the PC is female Virgil should be female too.

Virgil should be Virgina or something.

That would make him /her a totally neutraul player.

Now his sex gets in the way.
