i HOPE someone can help me! i just got DOG to join me (he rocks) and i went into the tarant sewers and he got fireballed/killed by an elemental snake. I stupidly/accidentally pressed F7 (quicksave) instead of what i meant to press (F8 = quickload) and now DOG is dead! I went all the way back to the mage shop and spent all my gold on a resurrect scroll and used it to bring DOG back but i cannot get him to rejoin me. When i try to 'talk' he just barks. is there ANY hope for me or have i lost DOG for good? please someone tell me a way to get him back if possible.

    thanks!

I did the same thing with Magnus. You may not like this, but you'll probably have to restart. Seeing as you only just got the dog, I'm assuming your a similar level to him...I don't think it would be too painful to start over would it?

Didn't have any problem when I resurrect the dog on the spot.

    It's a problem, not a bug!

Not every problem is a bug.

I'm sorry to say this- You cant get him back . There was 1 time when I asked my followers to wait and I saved and loaded(cause my item was damaged and I dont like repairing cause it lowers durability) that game back again, I found my followers missing and had to get them again.

You probably left them alone for too long. Do that, and they go back to their starting points.

Never never never never never NEVER Save when you tell your followers to WAIT. Cause when you Reload, they will all be gone

I tell them to wait and go about my business. they have always been there when I returned with the exception of Magnus, that little dwarf ruined the iron clan quest for me! But I have saved and loaded with no probs I have even traveled for days by foot and came back and they were still waiting (men can be such pigs). (Locq did have 15 charisma if that helps)

Not really. Persuasion apprentice means that followers wait for you longer than usual. They have a time limit and whatnot.

If you are like me, you save the game before using a res scroll or res elixer (to guard against failure or mistakingly clicking on the wrong corpse). Magnus did the same with me once, not wanting to rejoin the group. I reloaded the save and he then was back as a follower immediately upon resurrection.

I have also had Virgil break into dialogue after bringing him back to life stating there were too many people in the group, so he therefore would not rejoin, even though he was *still in the group*. I ignored the bug and the game continued fine.

After my first trip to BlackRoot, I always pack a couple of res scrolls; however each of my characters (after the first one) has had picklocks or pickpocket skill, so cash has never been a problem.

    Yes, the mutt does rock.

I always save games before battles of any decent length. That way, if someone dies, all I have to do is reload, because a) Usually I can't use a res scroll and b) The tech equivalent is heavy and expensive.

At 300 weight, I agree, the elixer is pretty heavy. I haven't tried the reanimator yet. For me, cleaning out the mage shops now and then (Not the one in Tarant. Those big guard dogs scare me.) keeps me well stocked in res scrolls and cash. With a tech character I often must reload a saved game more than once when attempting to use a res scroll.
