Doesn't make much sense, but flapdoodle and infundibular are two of my favourite words (I have no definite favourite word, but those two are among them).

I have this great little book called "The Superior Person's Great Big Book of Words". It's the astute lexicographer's best friend! (I made up that last litle bit). It is really cool though, has heaps of little known words, which are great to confuse people with. It also contains an extensive list of phobias :smile:. The rarest phobia - chrematophobia, the fear of money (anyone suffering from this, I am more than willing to alleviate your pain. Just message me :grin.

 

I write that book. It's even got a description of me in the title :grin:

Sooooo ... what's the most common phobia?

Also, which phobia would you allocate me if you had to give them out, one each to a member of the forum? I want a good one. Something stylish that will draw attention to me but not get in the way of my life.

Could you check out whether there is a "nads crushed on the handlebars" phobia for Ioo?

Hmmm...well, a really cool combo is scotophobia and scopophobia. I forget which one is which, but they mean fear of the dark and fear of being seen...it would be appalling to suffer from both...

Hmm...how about gynephobia (morbid dread of women) to celebrate your upcoming marriage with?

Actually, another really cool word is gynotikolobomassophile. Find the meaning of that :smile:.

I'm pretty tired right now (3 am in the morning), but I'll try put up as many of the phobias included in the book as I can (by the way, the author doesn't specify the most common phobia he has there. He does specify that chrematophobia is the fear of money, which would logically be the rarest, although you can't really prove it can you? No one would admit to it...).

 

i have that phobia, (chrematophobia) so you can have all my money, although because of it i don't have any money so i guess you can't

I was considering the option of trying to puzzling it out from the morphemes when I discovered through a search engine.

Pretty close to what I had Fatman. My little book defined it as somone who likes to nibble women's earlobes :smile:. Pretty similar though :smile:.
