If there already was a thread like this I missed it. So, what're your thoughts on this? What do we know about it, apart from that it's Disney that'll be making it? Personally I'm intruiged and rather hopeful (which is quite worrying, I hate it when a promising movie fails me). Disney is actually a welcome break from 'ol Georgies megalomania, and they seem to want to work with more models and actual props instead of CGI, which is right up my alley. It's also exciting to speculate about the plot; will it use any of the existing post-rebellion fiction or will it be all new? I'm hoping for a little of both. In my opinion, Kyle Katarn would be an excellent protagonist for a sequel. What do you think?
Disney is making a new Star Wars flick? Damn. I can see it in front of me. The dusty aftermath of a Tatooine battlefield, Jedi and Sith, red lightsaber about to meet blue lightsaber in a fury of vintage projector sounds, when all of a sudden absolutely everyone erupts in an explosion of singing that would put Bollywood to shame.
There's a lot of potential, but after the prequel trilogy I wonder if they can't possibly do any worse. This link right here is required viewing on the prequel stuff if you haven't seen it already
If you like bashing the prequel movies and haven't seen it already, go watch Harry Plinkets review on redlettermedia.com immedietly.
There's now a trailer (don't worry, it's not just a link to five minutes of an old guy's bouncing ballsack... honest). Seems pretty good, I like the new dark side lightsaber and inclusion of the Millennium Falcon. I like the whiney fanboys in the comments even more.
I liked most of it. Personally, though, I thought the new light saber and the ballsy R2 unit were kinda off.
I don't know, a cross-guard seems like an improvement of the lightsaber hilt. Still, I'd agree that it looked ridiculous. For more ridiculousness, I dare you to press this link.
