I am in the shrouded Hills area and am on the quest to destroy the steam engine for the elf. How exactly does this work? I tried dynamite to no effect, and tried turning on combat mode and attacking the control panel but it will not let me? What am I doing wrong?
To attack it manually, while in a combat mode, press alt then left click the engine. To use dynamites, put the dynamite in your hands then click over the engine.Stay back and wait at east 5 seconds for it to explode.
If you have Disentigrate, you can use that as well, accually any forcible spell will work. As long as it is targeted right.
the best way to do this task is to unarm yourself an attack it with your fists...(make sure you order your followers to back off) in my opinion it would be a waste of explosives...at low levels where you are neither techie nor mage yet...these items are precious...(you can use them against the thieves rather than the engine) attacking it with weapons damages your weapons...and with low gold...it is not worth it... if you attacked with your bare hands you lose life...but NEVER die...usually upto 1 life...but you have virgil who can easily heal you or the inn which is cheaper than having your weapon repaired(which the blacksmith will **ck up) :smile:
