I've had a lot of fun recently with a point and click adventure called Primordia. It's post-apocalyptic, it contains Fallout references, you and everyone else apparently is a robot and you have a Mortesque sidekick. I also keep hearing good things about a game called Deponia. Is it just me, or is this genre making a covert comeback?
Deponia is one of those games where you will either like it or hate it. Resonance is a goon game too.
The Broken Sword Kickstarter renewed my interest in point-and-click adventures. That's really all I have to say on the matter. I feel like a bot.
I have fond memories of Roger Wilco games (Space Quest), as well as The Day of the Tentacle. Which I beat over the course of a long weekend with 2 other nerdy friends a few years after it came out, in one of the rare cases of a single player game being played/beaten by a group of 12 year olds.
Why is Leisure Suit Larry 7 is not mentioned at all? I know I am not the only perverted one here (Jojobobo you there?) or am I mistaking the point and click adventure concept? sidenote: librarian Vicky occupied a major part of my private times, ah good old days where you have no sex, just dreaming of it in all the wrong ways.
Present and perverted, I've never played it in all honesty - but I have heard of it and it does sound intriguing. I'm not a huge fan of point and click games, though I did like Amnesia: The Dark Descent until it kept continuously crashing at the same point in the story and I couldn't find a fix for it.
Re: It is even getting better if you would click on the man in the shower on the computer on the desk of Vicky, before she has sex with you. Easter egg. (Not to mention MILK THE BEAVER and then go to those country girls cabin.) You're not the only pervert. I have played LSL 1 (original and VGA) to 7.
Ah yes easters, my favorite one was "unzipping" statue before the caretaker lady.. Jojobobo I strongly recommend Larry (up to 7, after that the new ones are horrible waste of time at best). By the way there was no 32nd Dildo in the game right? It was just a joke on devs side I always thought? (played so many times and never found it) Monkey Island 3 was also a pretty good point and click. It won me at the point Spoiler where you die and credits begin and you load back trying to figure out how to advance without dying, only to notice that you have to be patient to wait for fake credits to stop and game continue from the coffin) . Real good game!

Damn Arthgon, now just for luring out the 32nd dildo I will have to play it again.. I hope it unlocks some sort of cutscene or game area, maybe, maybe it might unlock the easter for the Captain!
____ the police! Nah I'm just kidding - I'm a big fan of the police. Every little thing she does is magic... That should be your theme song.
I hate the police. Rerail: I've recently picked up Syberia. I think it's about ten years old but the setting has a very well executed steampunk feel. Although the game is set in more or less present day, the game is played in small European locales and automatons are very much present in the world. Many of the puzzles involve finding the correct pieces to get some machinery to work.
