Yesterday and a few weeks ago, I encountered an interesting phenomenon. Some of my items (the twin skulls, the cure blindness potion) disappeared from my inventory. That was very annoying because that prevents me from solving some quests. Did anyone encounter the same problem? Oh, by the way, before the question occurs: I didn't throw them away accidently! X
I called it the morphing theory. I believe the item change it looks for a time being. Partly due to the slow refreshing of viewing data. This also happens when I repair some item. It takes a few seconds with the closing and opening of some screen before you get the correct view. The best way to ensure quest items don't disappear is to put them in storage containers until you have use for them. It is not safe even on your NPC. I hope for an item bank which helps you to store your quest items.
hmm i had virgil vanish, and if i clicked on his picture it was a arcane helm. if i rightclick and asked for stats, it gave me the stats of an arcane helm (0 in all and 150 hps.. heheh) rather interesting
I've encountered the same bug with that tax-box of the Praetor king... still looking for an inventory hack.
To ensure quest item don't get lost, you must store it in a safe location like those chest that doesn't reset. Quest item tend to disappear when you have plenty of stuff in your inventory and it undergo plenty of changes. I did see some items return after awhile. This can only happen if you have not dump, use, mix or sell it before hand. I don't think the problem is rectified yet.
I saw phosphorus in the shape of a spool of heavy wire once...and a healing potion disguised itself as a healing salve once as well...
I saw the samething happen before to me. The more complex the game the more bugs it have. I log into than Pool of Radiance site once they have than idiot who didnot even have the game or even play the game attack play who want the compancy to address some gameplay issue in than patch, he said if you donot like the game program your own. I gave that company than piece of my mind if their will address gameplay issur I will buy their game.
Thats happend to me before, my Auto Skeleton key would go black after I used it, but I kept on using it and eventually it re-appeared
My item simply disappeard... it didn't turn intself into another item or so.. it just... disappeard. And no matter how much I keep playing it's simply not there. A theoretical question: Let's say that there was a bug and although it showed me that I had the tax-box it was infact on the floor, and then I left the town. If so, will the item decay?
