Well I'm playing it right now! I think that earns me 20 cool points, though it is for scavenger hunt purposes.
I played it just before I gave my ancient PC a wipe after The Sims 2 caused a blue screen I couldn't escape, which was actually 3 months ago...but I already cast my vote for a half a year. Might as well be that long, I didn't attach to the character well enough to actually remember past the crash site, if I even went further than that. Less than spectacular.
I may not have played Arcanum in more than a year, but I cast a conservative estimate. I want to get back to it, but there is just so much other cool stuff to do!
My last playthrough was when I was making the high resolution patch, more than two years ago. Here's a screenshot of the party I had.
I'm planning to start a new playthrough any day now, but I guess that doesn't count. I finished my last serious character 3-4 months ago, yet I'm going with the first poll answer for I have been running all over Arcanum with odd-named characters every other day since Jojobobo started his Arcanum scavenger thread.
It was about a year ago I would estimate, when I was tired of being a poseur on this forum for never having gotten past the Isle of Despair before. It worked, and I progressed a little past the Wheel Clan (and I did a shitload of sidequests I never did before either). I cannot remember the exact reason why I stopped, but I did. I think I made a goody-two-shoes half-elf battle mage that wasn't afraid to spam harm. Cutting a wide swath through my enemies was good times. (Guess which portrait I used....hrmmmm????)
Why did I think this was going to be a poll asking which of us abuse Ristezze's ever replenishing gold supplies? I played earlier today but only for a few minutes, unfortunately I lost all my old saves so I'm in the process of deciding on a new character.
The last time I actually played through all the way to the end has to be at least 2 years. I've had two serious attempts since then but for some reason or another never completed them. I'm planning another run-through soon so hopefully that will work out.
