Spoofing Arcanum?

So I am seriously considering making a spoof of Arcanum using the AGS engine. Are spoofs legal?

Facts:
I will not charge any money whatsoever for the game. It will be made for fun and amusement.

I will not take credit for the ideas of Arcanum. I will acknowledge Arcanum as the intellectual property of Sierra/Troika.

I won't use original game files. I will redraw characters/items/backgrounds in a playful 2D cartoon style, add my own voiceovers and dialog. It will loosely follow the main storyline of Arcanum.

Sorry if I am not being clear, English is not my first language.

 

It should be okay, in your case, I think.

Look at Conter-Strike 2D, for example. They made completely new game from existing commercial game, without getting suited or anything.

Just change the name of your game and no one's going to bother.

 

Make it an adult spOof. Call it Arcumnum.
