Clockwork Decoy

How the hell do you get the Clockwork Decoy to work? Is it supposed to run around, or something? I chuck it at a guy and it hits him and does like, .1 damage. And if i throw it on the floor, dumbass Virgil goes and picks it up.
Any help here?

 

And before any of you bitch at me for saying something that's been posted before, I tryed what the guy said, about putting it in your belt and then using it. But that didn't work either. What gives?
I may be doing something wrong, but i highly doubt it. The time i tryed it the belt way, a gaurd in stillwater stole it from me and I had to pickpocket it from him.
It's very irritating!

 

I haven't used a clockword decoy, so I'm just going to toss out a few things you can try. For all I know, the things is bugged and doesn't work at all.

First, when you tried throwing it, how far away did you throw it? I know that mechanical arachnids sometimes don't work if you throw them too far away. Try dropping it right next to you, but not so close that someone'll pick it up.

 

Maybe. I dunno, but whatever the problem is, its really pissing me off becaue I have 2 explosive clockwork decoys that I would really love to see in action.

I've used it from my belt to distract enemies but Sogg always ends up attacking/destroying it which in turn then alerts the enemies to us.

I think it may have something to do with your throwing skills with whether or not the device will actually work.
