I tried to kill a lantern one time. Me, virgil and sogg all whipped out our axes/swords and we went to town on the lantern. However, on every hit, the text "Weapon Damaged" "Weapon Damaged" floated over all three of us. Before I could get them to stop, all our weapons were like missing 30-40 hitpoints. Why?? I didn't think that lanterns would be so tough...What do I need to use to bash stuff with then. Bare fists? Oh yeah, and we never killed the lantern. I didn't think our weapons were THAT sucky.... ??????
weapons such as sword types are "slashing" weapons and are not designed for impact damage such as some axe's and mace's..... hang on why were you trying to kill the lantern?.... was it an evil lantern?
yes, it was a foul mouthed lantern that insulted my mother. Oh, wait....maybe that was that crack I was smoking that called my mother a fat b*tch.... Who knows? So I would be better off using axes and hammers and bare hands than with daggers or swords...I gotcha...
glad i could be of assistance to you.... maybe i'm not the useless mofo my boss keeps calling me.... nah he's probably right actually
The best weapon to use for attacking inanimate objects, hands down, is Dog. He doesn't take much damage, and he destroys anything in 2 or 3 hits. Then Virgil just spend the 5 fatigue points and heal him, or if you're a techie, then use a healing salve. Really saves alot of time.
Oh damn, mrnobodie, you missed out on one of the best NPCs in the game. He's in Ashbury getting his ass beat by a hungry gnome. You only have one chance to get him, so if you missed him the first time then he's gone for good. Reason being, he's now dead. When you first enter Ashbury, you need to rush towards the Inn. I forget what it's called, but it's almost at the end of the main street. There you'll find the gnome kicking Dog while he's down. Then talk to/threaten/whine to the gnome until he gives you the Dog. Simple as that. One of the best followers, and he doesn't take up a slot.
yippeeeee really, no slot, damn! oh well this just means i will have to play through the game again... ahhh, the sacrifices one must make
You don't have to rush to the inn soon as you enter Ashbury. When you start hearing a dog whinning and kicking noises because you're approaching the inn, then talk to the gnome. By the way, another character that doesn't take a slot is that magic guy with Mr. Willousby in Tyrant. My slot was 4 but he still joined me, now I got 5 characters.
Help !! HELP !! My character CANT attack ANY inanimate ObJects !! I even had to destroy the Shrouded Hills steam engine with Molotov Cocktails [about 10]. I know i'm supposed to click Combat TOggle the n attack the machine , but everything doesnt work ! i've tried guns , swords , fists !!
Ya the dog's pretty cool. He kills anything in a few hits. To save him you either BEG the gnome to stop kicking him which results in the gnome insulting you or THREATEN to kill him if he doesnt stop kicking the dog and then he will run away.
