Cannot use certain skills.

Hi, I recently started playing Arcanum, and I've enjoyed it so far. When I created my first character I gave him one points worth of pick pocketing skill. Later, I bought a points worth of skills in lockpicking. There are many times I'd like to use lockpicking, but I don't know how. When I click the skills button, it shows four of my available skills, but none of which are the one I'm looking for. I've tried finding a scroll function or something similar to switch skills around, but I cannot. Any help is appreciated.

 

You need a set of lock picks, they can often be found in trashcans around Tarant.

 

Oh, I'd thought that it was a skill and lockpicks only increased the chance of success. Thank you.

 

Lockpicks can't be found in generic restockable trashcans, but there is a fixed set in a barrel outside of Poone's Flophouse in Tarant.

 

There's another set in the Wolf Caverns.

 

And you can buy 'em from the starting merchant.
