It seems every time I replay Fallout 2, I usualy stop about San Fran. I love wondering the wastes and trying different strategies with all the other citys. But San Fran just seems dull and linear.

Fallout 1 has a lot of "exploits" and loop holes that, if you ignore, still makes it an interesting game. The story is shorter but it is a lot more consistant.

    No offence taken.

Ive got a buddy of mine whom reckon Fallout 1 was better, because Fallout 2 was too "comic" style.. like the many objects in the game and speeches npc make that actually tell you "its just a game" kinda way..

Anyhow, i prefer Fallout 2 because there were a lot more choices you could make during your travels.. and the skill system is more refined and have a purpose/use. Also giving NPCs armor and orders/style is a bonus for me. I also like the Fo2 story better as well.. its not as grim as Fo1, but its an issue any recovering civilazation has to deal with.. the remnants of the old government and military forces. (the movie The Postman had a lot of potential, it was good, but they didnt include 2 headed Brahmins!! heh)

I have got the original american version of Fallout 2 before I have seen Fallout 1. Definitely I was impressed and obviously I became a great fan of this game...

At that time I was living in Russia and there it's extremely difficult sometimes to get the ORIGINAL american versions of the games. I was in this situation when I've tried to find the original Fallout 1, after walking through Fallout 2 a dosen times.

So, the translation was AWFUL. I would have killed the guy who did it, if I could find him! Anyway, the main idea is that I have got the first impression of Fallout 1 spoiled by this fvcking translation. That's why I still think that Fallout 2 is MUCH BETTER...

OY! Back of, or I`ll shove that silverforce of your up where the sun don`t shine. I happen to be a huge fan of FO1, but as I said I haven`t been able to get my hands on a copy of FO2. We don`t all live in reasonable distance from the beloved bargainbins, and for some reason FO2 doesn`t seem to be high up on the gamedealers lists these days...

/edit// I`m not as pissed as I seem. Sorry SilverF. Just upset over the unavailability of FO2/

I think it means Zen thought Krix's reply was meaningless.

I would have to disagree, since Krix's post would back up another post stating that buying things over the 'net is a "good thing".

Well, once people start meaningless posts with a few words only it gets out of hand.. then they and everyone else would think its okay to do so.

I've seen the old Backroom on the interplay board (Baldurs Gate forums) got wayyyeee out of hand.. where ppl even posted to say "hi.. im here!!" or "bye.. im going now." and everyone else would reply to those posts.. hot damnit, it aint irc chatting!! its a bbs for the love of all thats good!!

I think that FO and FO2 are among the gretest RPGs that have ever been done, but they could actualy been a bit more grim and dark without losing the humorus parts (though some in FO2 could have been left out).

Personaly I think they should get back to basic, and make a slower increase in firepower as well as making it more rare with high energy weapons. It would have been nice if you actualy could finish all background quests.

I like FO2 better because its more nonlinear then FO. I do agree however FO2 story is about as exciting as The 700 Club.

Im a bit concerned about Arcanums story. Another 'Im really a god and dont know it yet' story is going to make me puke.
