Well, the subject kinda says it all. I thought going the Master Gambling route would get me there, it didn't. I got pissed and killed Rockharrow for the approx 20,000 he had on him. That still only got me to around 45,000. It's late in the game and there isn't a lot left to loot. The version I'm playing is UAP. What is annoying is killing the richest man in Arcanum and all you'll net is a measly few thousand if you sold everything in his house yet the bank wants the GDP of the whole continent for one house. I would really like a hint on how to raise the scratch for that house. Thanks in advance.

I've actually never gotten much money legitimately, so I couldn't tell you how to do so without... taking advantage.. of the game a bit.

However, if you don't care how you get it, there are quite a few tricks and bugs that can get you millions in minutes, the gold stacking trick being the easiest.

Legitimately? You could steal valuable items from people, you could farm on the world map hoping for drops from random encounters, you could craft and sell things, or a combination of the 3.

I find your lack of coin surprising. Drank away all your loot money?

Anyhow, you might consider killing (a) shopkeeper(s) for his money if that's OK with your character. Generally, the more you visit one the more coin he has, especially if you're mostly checking and/or buying rather than selling. Each Wise Woman in my magick games usually ends up having hundreds of thousands of coins eventually, for example.

Also, if you're tech, there are quite a few items which you can craft and sell for ridiculous amounts of coin.

I'm not tech in this game but I remember the "eyegear" trick with the Tarant junk dealer, it just gets to be watching water boil after awhile waiting for the parts to appear. On that note, does the junk dealer in Tarant get a fresh supply of coin every day to buy stuff with like in Shrouded Hills? I might want to kill him and then resurrect him a couple times.

With regard to the Gypsies, I only ever use them in the beginning of the game to identify stuff. As a magicker I usually get the spell eventually if for no other reason then one fewer time wasting side trips to identify stuff. The merchant I've sold the most to is the magick staff dealer in Tarant, it's just convenient to sell the rough stones (he gives the best price) to him and then buy fatigue potions or the odd Exiting scroll. So in one sense, yes I have drunk some profits but only to keep myself alive in a dungeon.

    Every shopkeeper does.

Gypsies are probably the most useful shopkeepers for a mage, seeing how each arcane item has a 1% chance of appearing in their stock each day.

Have a decent Haggle. Clean out dungeons and loot everything. Sell every single item you don't equip. The better the Haggle, the less of a p.i.t.a. My Haggle is quite low and I've become lax about selling everything, and yet I've easily amassed 75k and the game isn't over.

I'llThe Office DVD leave the obvious way .... original BBC series, The Office, is brilliant. When NBC began promoting an American version of The Office, who shrugged. Appeared flat and not funny, and at first I refused to see. I took a Prison Break DVDfew minutes a week, and I've been hooked ever since. Surprisingly very good. I did not like the series, but I found myself drawn in, much the same way that I was in the original.Steve Carell is funny, even if it were nothing compared to Ricky Gervais. It seems he triesScrubs DVD too hard to play the character, and it takes a few episodes before he loves the role. John Krasinski is not Martin Freeman, either, but his "Jim" character is quite charming in its way. I was somewhat surprised by her casting first because The Tribe DVDI thought it was too much of a "Ken doll" to play Tim / Jim's role, but after a few episodes, it grew in me.One of the best things is that Office is a comedy that is actually funny (there is very little to American television, making it a welcome addition.) The writing is lively, funny and well done. Did not bother her Your Baby Can Read DVDaudience with an annoying laugh track blasting.Although it is difficult not to compare the two shows to another if you watch NBC's The Office and judge on its own merits, the show is fun to watch and value. I'm glad I gave the show a chance. It is not necessary to choose between versions of the BBC and American issue. It is natural to love both.

Try getting Magnus to craft eyegears, after a couple hundred inventory reloads at the inventor you should have enough stuff to craft and get your gold. The painful part is that you also have to wait for the merchant's cash to build up so you might aswell go berserk

Bit of prestige around Tarant as the owner, a lot of containers and if you hadn't looted before, Bates' journal. Am I missing anything?

I have finally figured out the "get Bates Mansion plan". Magicker, high WP, Master Haggle, price drops to 50,000, be evil and kill the real estate agent after buying Mansion. In fact, I'm finding that high levels of Haggle make money almost a non entity, you can easily end the game with 70,000+. It's such a natural fit for Magic Users I don't know why I didn't see it before. Just wish you could buy the Bentley instead because Bates Mansion is on the other side of town and no steam rail service for Mages.
