http://www.associatedcontent.com/articl ... tml?cat=62 To anyone that has been paying attention, this really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. We have slowly been loosing our position as the top world power for the past 10 years. And have been encouraged to live beyond our means for instant gratification for longer. Our colossal debt, the New York Stock Exchange (once a symbol of America's power and prosperity) being foreign owned, a war that is nearing a decade in length, and our leader's push towards socialism all helped this inevitability.
Yeah, I recall hearing about that... but, in response? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgnnkBcQ ... ature=fvwp
How about CNN or the Wall Street Journal? If neither of those do it for you which news company would? ABC? MSNBC? New York Times? Boston Globe? LA Times? Fox?
They're talking about it, it doesn't mean it's going to happen in the near future. These doomsday scenarios come up all the time. The dollar will eventually rebound, even with the idiots running this country (left and right).
The U.S. economy is starting to get back on its feet again and once unemployment continues to decrease the dollar will keep getting stronger. It's actually been gaining against the Euro recently. The IMF thing is a silly threat that gets thrown around every year.
the dolla' will crash The US dollar will crash because its value is a financial bubble. You can't live on other people's money and expect them not to realize it. The soviet union collapsed in a day, so will the US. It won't be a nuclear holocaust or anything, just lowered standard of living. Shit, we were all getting too fat and lazy for our own good anyway.
Sure but when the dollar becomes worthless it becomes much cheaper to do business with us. Wonder why China is easy to do business with? A devalued currency. Though China is danger of losing more business because it's currency can't stay that low forever and their unfair trading practices lead the US and other countries to see cheaper and more legitimate alternatives. Such as India and Vietnam.
