do i need the gog version to run on windows 7 or

    will the retail version work? because i have the retail version, and it installs ok, i just can't get it to run even in compatibility mode

    GOG version is exactly the same as retail.

    What do you mean "you can't get it to run"? Can you be more specific?

    i double-click the icon and nothing happens

    i did manage to get it working on a fresh install with the latest official patch and the unofficial patch but when i tried to install the high res pack i got an error message and the same problem

    so disregard the bow topic for now i guess :\
