Upcoming games for 2011

We'll get Modern Warfare 3 around the holiday season. The kids'll go crazy.

But I'm mostly looking forward to Shogun 2 and Mass Effect 3, mentioned above.

 

I just pre-purchased Homefront on Steam, mostly because I got Metro 2033 with it for free.

 

Will play Dragon Age 2. Mostly, just to see what it's like.

 

I hope no good games get released this year counting from today. I've recently bought me a lot of older games and would like to play them through before having the need to buy new games.

At the moment I want to play through Arcanum and see which level my character reaches without the level 50 cap. Then I also need to escape from The Butcher Bay and Dark Athena. I need to command the X-Com troops in Mega-Primus and slay the aliens. And I'm wandering in the wasteland as The Chosen One trying to find the G.E.C.K. I've also encountered several demons in Mars.

So many things to kill it seems, guess I could increase it with some necromorphs too.

Yes! I just pre-bought Deus Ex: Human Revolution, also I bought DX:HR Tuque, polo shirt, a T-shirt and a scarf, now I don't need anything else! xD

I just don't know if my old PC will run it :/

Speaking of Bobby Kotick, wife of GU Comic's creator, Woody Hearn, had her WoW account hacked. After an hr of Woody talking to his Blizzard contacts her account was restored in full and Woody and Blizzard teamed up to start a limerick contest to give out 5 free Battle.net Authenticators. Can someone give me an example (besides the obvious Spore) where business execs have caused a game to be 'dumbed down' beyond that of an Indie game?

I wonder if mods can fix the combat.
As for story and characters, I'm clueless.
I think I'll wait for some Ultimate Edition like in DA1.


I'm curious about Mass (d)Effect 3.
Truth is I haven't even played ME1 or ME2. I've heard mixed things about the game: plays like a shooter but has a good story and characters.
I'm undecided between buying ME1 and 2 for a bargain or wait for the triology in 1 or 2 years.

Facebook is something... unique, in a ridiculous way...

Most of the users have it so they can play HappyFarm or something like that...

 

All of the games on facebook require you to have friends. Not having many, I fail.

 

Not all of them. I play EredanITCG and Dragons of Atlantis (another Evony clone, but better). There is no gifting in either of them so friends aren't needed. In Eredan if you do have friends you get another 10 crystals per day per friend, but since all the good cards to make a deck with are in the many thousands, it doesn't really matter. Also, the mindjolt games and tetris battle don't require friends.

 

Always lookin forward to new HoMM games.

 

I've heard lots of flak about HoMM 6. One of the most important of them being they cut all rare resources except for crystals. No mercury, sulfur or gems.

Also, a leak showed that some creatures from different towns were blatantly copypasted.

Anyway, for games of this year, I already preordered Portal 2. Eagerly awaiting Battlefield 3. And already completed Dead Space 2. It was pretty good, actually.

And Deus Ex 3 hasn't even been released yet.

From what I've read Dues Ex 3 looks to be good. as for bagging out Empire total war? I have to disagree with you there, I think it was the best installment since Shogun. In fact the only way they could of made it even better was to add multiplayer campaign. I have to disagree with Oblivion as well, I found the game was much better than Morrowind, I also think there was a lot of good mods made for it. Sure you can argue that a good game wouldn't need mods but we both know that is a load of BS every game can be modded to be more appealing to a different audience.

As for the die hard fans etc, usually it is the minority that is the most vocal and represented, especially on the internet.

 

Can't wait for Dragon Age 2 mostly, a bit disappointed that the "origins" idea is gone but still, looks very promising.

Witcher 2. I couldn't play the 1st cause of the gameplay but I've heard good stuff bout this one.

Dungeon Siege 3. Yes yes, the 2nd one sucked but first wasn't bad

And of course, Diablo III but I don't even know if it will be out in 2011.

Deus Ex 3 hasn't been released yet, so you can't tell if it is good or not, my opinion, it will kick ass! All I hope is that Square Enix doesn't fuck it up with FF stuff.
