Hello there, being a noob on this forum I shall start by pointing out that the only Arcanum-wiki I've seen is the one linked here as "Troikapedia", if another more complete wiki on the topic exist I beg of you please point me on its direction and disregard the rest of this message, thanks. So, having played the game for a while, having tried a couple of different characters, and having thought of a couple of possibly interesting projects, I've come to have the need of detailed information -wich the Manual lacks- and seeing the state of the current wiki is shoddy at the least I turn to you, my enlightned fellows in the seek of help. So I wonder: how can it be possible that the wiki is so darn incomplete while we seem to have such knowledgeable members in the community? Is it that the information has been already been posted but no one updated the wiki? For example, I've just seen Muro's database of weapons and it's awesome! If such tables could be assembled for armors as well it would be even more awesome! Of course, things as complete schematics list -with pictures, of course-, micellaneous information, and everything else a wiki about a game should have, should also be added, but I guess things have different priorties uh? Anyways, of course I'd be glad to contribute in any way that's possible to me, but first, the fear I've expressed on the first paragraph remains, so I'm waiting for someone to reply to this before making any more of a fool of myself -as the Search function has proven to not be so helpfull on this whole matter-.
It's quite simple. We are lazy. I've been thinking about an Exploits wiki page though, but didn't do much else.
Well, I'll be damn.. a typo in my post! Oh! terrible fate of mine! Well, if each of us could spare some of our porn time and use it for adding whatever information we think it's usefull, it could slowly get more and more complete, wich would be better than nothing I didn't know about amtut, I'm checking it out now and seems nice, tho, when said projects, I didn't quite mean modding But still, I might just take that direction on my spare time. Thanks!
He speaks as though we dedicate time to other things. Odd. Frigo is quite right on this one, I'm afraid. The administration/moderation team here is a bunch of lazy saps. You are quite capable of editing the wiki yourself though, if you'd like. I'd offer to assist, but lately I haven't even had time to help RunAwayScientist with his project.
Not sure the run away scientist has my msn or not. He should add me anyway. Or shoot me an email occasionaly, I'm interested to hear about his project. So far as the wiki goes, I think a fresh start could be beneificual. Use whatever info off of the old version you wish, but trying to finish something someone else started will result in a whole lot of laching direction. Good luck with modding anyway,
Indeed, the whole thing is rather chaotic.. And I'm not too blessed in the spare-time areas of my life, but since a couple of friends and I want to make a pen&paper Arcnum -not just any Steampunk + Magick, but literally all Arcanum- I'm probably gonna spend some time dwelling on the dephts of the game and getting all info I can. My hope was that if there were a comlete wiki I could just get the data from there, but it seems the information will have to flow in the opposite direction '^^
1) Oh, thank you, once again. 2) Yes, my keyboard skips letters sometimes, wich makes compile errors interesting to say the least 3) So it is "depths", uh? Noted. 4) On the punctuation marks: thanks, but I prefer my way.
Technically, you could say that there are large quantities of spelling Nazism in this sector, indeed. Nevertheless, you could sometimes learn from it. (I have some trouble with the grammar, but I always learn some new things here.) Are there going to be two wiki's? If yes, would not it better that people will know which one is going to be the updated one? Example: The old wiki will automatically send you to the updated one.
Ok.. I can't believe I hadn't checked gamebanshee!! Pretty much I was going to add is there! And so much more!! http://www.gamebanshee.com/arcanum/
Indeed a database of good quality. Definitely not perfect, though. They did miss some unique weapons and armor-related items. Additionally, they made the mistake of trusting the item descriptions and taking the item data directly from them. This means the data is incomplete in those cases where not all parameters could fit in the description window (for example charmed/magick/mystic/arcane robes/chainmail/platemail) and wrong in those in which the description itself is incorrect (for example Axe of Lost Time). Too bad the data about followers is incomplete/wrong in quite a few places there. Sadly, same could be said about terra-arcanum.com as well. It would seem most/all Arcanum-related sites uploaded follower info from the time before the game's release and didn't bother to correct it later.
