    Ouch! Didn't think Brissie was so far behind the times. Last time I was up there, the hardware costs were close to Sydney…guess the ISP's haven't caught up yet (or maybe I'm just spoilt by the Southern Cross cable run)

    Don't worry about using a 56k modem with Everquest Jarinor... I live in Australia, and playe Everquest with a 56k modem with no problems 95% of the time (5% of the time there were server problems, sometimes when an area is VERY crowded I'd get disconnected).. But otherwise its totally playable.

    Its not like CS... Having a high ping makes almost no difference to how you play, since fighting is more dependant on your character than your personal skill.

    Everquest is a lot of fun when you start off... It gets a bit boring as you get higher though. As for it vs DAOC, I don't kniw... I've never tried DAOC (The system specs are too high for me, purchase and monthly prices are higher than EQ, but I've heard a lot of good things about it). I played EQ for about 2 years, almost everyday.

    EQ is really cheap right now (You can get it + 2 expansions for like $30 I think). The 3rd expansion is due to be out later this year.

    I got one thing to say about this: Don;t play Everquest... it sucks, as do all of mmorpgs I've played.

    There's one though, which is in open beta so its free... Elemental Saga... either http://www.esaga.com or go to http://www.nexon.com or .net and click the ES link.
