In Tarant there is a really easy way to get a load of cash. Go to Madame Lin's brothel. Ask about work and take the job about retrieving the amulet. Complete that, then talk to her again about work. She complains that a client, Mr. Langly, hasn't payed his 400 gold bill. Go find Mr. Langly. Tell him Lin sent you, and be nice about the payment. When he offers to give 200 now, and the rest in 5 days, say you dont trust him, and then accept. When dialogue ends, talk to him again. He keeps paying you 200 gold, and it only takes a few seconds each time!!!

Anyway, Anon's tip isn't much of a help if you have updated Arcanum's version. I tried it with the updated version and it didn't work.

 

I wrote that to see if it would get any kind of negative response. and I was in a faul mood. After discovering my 256 lan has 5kbps average to the US. What kind of shit is that?

 

an easier way to get cash is reitzee in shrouded hills...pickpocket his key and aceess to the cash in his trunk is forever yours...between 600 - 2900 cash...if your relly bored go outside advance time one day go back in steal money..repeat often if desired...if your character is not a theif...advance time to night, then four hours, ,follow him to bed (how twisted) then pickpocket the key while he sleeps...

 

isn't it strange that when they are going to sleep they don't notice a guy standing next to their bed? they even lock the door...
reminds me of the mutant from Broken Hills. when you loose the hand wrestling match.

 

The same happens in Ashbury.
In the quest that you need to move some stones for some farmer.(After you kill some wild pigs for him)
After you move the stones,you can speak with him and get paid again!

 

I'm not sure but do you think that it really is part of the quest? Him giving you money after the heavy carrying labor.

I don't get it, 1st time through I ended with over 200K, second time it was even worst (playing a thief) as I ended with over 400K!!

Why would anyone ever need money in this game ?! hrmmm... Maybe I should try playing a gunslinger, I hear bullets cost alot of gold, but even then I don't believe I'll have all that much gold shortage.

 

Did you exploit bugs for this kind of cash?

I end the game with under 100k usually...around 20k the first time around (very ugly half-orc) and about 80k the second time (average beauty human with one rank in haggle).

 

You are right in the whole game i bought almost everything i could(and when i saw that i dont need it i didnt sell it, i stored it in a box somewhere so i could be able to go there and take what i need)

and i still finished the game with something like 160k(unsure)

 

It keeps increasing each time you played it.

 

I gave the reasons why...

Ugly half-orc with no haggle gets charge premium prices. Average human with a little haggle gets charged less and gets paid more therefore more money.

Back to the topic could anyone verify if this work: cast dominate will on shop keeper then command him/her to "back off" then cancel the spell, the effect-a shop keeper who hates you but does not attack whatever you do.
