Victor Salazar, my character, would like to kill Loghaire quickly after the beginning of the conversation with him, so there's no informing him about the BMC's fate. After reading the letter Loghaire had in his inventory Victor gets to know that he needs to find Qintarra, it pushes the plot forward, but now I know that he need to get to Stillwater somehow. I know that Loghaire's conjured spirit would suggest it and marks it on his map, but Victor's no necromancer and he doesn't want to use a scroll for it either. We want a different solution. Also, I despise metagaming, so going to the exact coordinates without Victor knowing them is out of the question.

Long this short, the question is already in the title. Is there any other way than talking with Loghaire to get Stillwater marked on Victor's map?
We're talking vanilla Arcanum + UAP here.

I think it sometimes gets marked on your way back from the BMC to Tarant because of proximity. It doesn't happen on the way there, I don't think, but I'm pretty sure I've had it happen before when I went back for supplies.

Fair enough. It actually took a few tries to "accidentally" stumble upon it, so it would be hard to do it without knowing about it earlier, but it eventually worked and I guess it will do for Victor. I'm grateful for the idea, good sir.

The thread is not closed, however. If anyone knows the answer to the question in the first post, please share it. I use my thread author powers and hereby announce that a post containing such content will be considered gravedig-free. The possibility of learning something new about the game is a priority here.

Well, I just found a way, actually. First I tried to ask some elves, especially the ones in Shrouded Hills. Then I went to Tarant, asked the next best commoner "How do I get to Qintarra?" and to my surprise he said "Uh, ask the elves in Stillwater, maybe?" "Well good sir, where do I find Stillwater?" I replied "You find it like... there!" he told me. And there was Stillwater.

I'm rather surprised that asking random people about your main quest's next target makes sense this time, to be honest.

And I'm surprised that it worked, because asking random passerbies in Tarant about Qintarra was the very first thing I did before even starting this thread, and I failed to hear anything more than "We don't talk about it" from elves and "I have no idea" from everyone else.

Encouraged by your post, I decided to try it once again, didn't find any valuable information in Tarant, tried it in Ashbury, and voila! It seems that halfling paserbies are the ones which mention and mark Stillwater. No wonder I couldn't do it in Tarant, I'm not sure if there is even a single halfling passerby there (then again, there probably is, judging from the fact that Tarant was the place you gained the required info).

I have a save just before leaving the Wheel Clan and I think I'm going to do it you're way. Thanks for your contribution, Arkain!

Not part of the main quest, but asking Ashbury villagers about Dernholm after the first part of the Bessie Toone quest sure is useful. I'm not sure if there's another way to get it marked that early in the game.

Well, as for Dernholm you can do Jongle Dune's quest and get a follow up quest to mark your map.

I think I persuaded the son into telling me once with a 1-2 ranks in persuasion and apprentice, but I am not entirely certain. Ran through to Tarant about a half dozen times trying to work on a good thief character.

Actually, I asked two human NPCs, a woman who just walked by and a man in a suit a bit further down the street. Both were around the bridge you usually run up to leave the Boil, near the shop on the left hand side.
The interesting part is that, at least in my version, there where two questions to be asked, each with their respective answers: "Where is Qintarra?" - "No idea." and "How do I get to Qintarra?" - "Try the elves Stillwater.". Those two weren't available in all cases though, turning it into a complicated issue if you can't find an appropiate NPC.

I think you can get Dernholm marked on your map if you accept Jongle Donne's second quest in Shrouded Hills. He wants you to fetch an item for him from an acquaintance of his, or something like that, who lives in Dernholm and thus gives you the location of the town.

Yes, I'm aware that collaborating with Jongle Dunne results in him marking Dernholm for his second quest. I should have noted that I was thinking about the possibilities for the good path.

I found it on accident on my first play through when I, out of sheer curiousity, made a giant spiral around the map, that ended me in Tarant, after passing it like 5-6 times going either direction.

Actually, with my new techie I figured out if you talk to Percival about the quest and learn Sarah is in Dernholm, you can talk to some of the people in Shrouded Hills and they will tell you where to find it.

On my first playthrough, I asked a guardsman where Dernholm was, and he marked it on my map.
