Commanding followers

Ok folks, time to help out the stupid old man. I have not been able to find any lock picks in the game. I'm at level fifteen with Virgil and Magnus as followers and I'm stuck in Tarant trying to fulfill quests that require lock picking. Virgil has the skill but I can't get him to do anything. I assume there is a key sequence of some kind to command him, but I can't find the menu. I've also tried alt-rshift and alt-lshift to issue a command on an object but nothing happens. WTF!!

 

if you patch the game, if your skill level is lower than virgils when you use the lockpicks from the quickslot, he should say "let me do it" hey but don't be fooled it takes more than 2 slots of proficiency and an aprentice to get anything open! Better of using a fate point or bashing

 

OK. HOw do I execute these extra commands. Do I just walk up to the object and swing or is there some other key sequence that I need to execute?

 

to chop at stuff you need to go into battle mode first, then hold alt and clik on the thing you want bashed. after you do that quickly tell you followers to "back off" or they will also attack the thing.
2. If you have lockpicks put them in yer quickslot and use them on a door. without them, you can select the lockpicking skill from the quickskill menu.

 

well, if you still havent found any lockpicks yet there's a set in Tarant that's always there. Take the steamrail to the Tarantian Docks then run straight up. Just before you reach the bridge there's a white container on your left. There's a set inside.

 

There's one at the wolf cave.

 

Yeah, if all else fails a sturdy axe is a suitable lockpick. However, it does require some patience, especially if you aren't a melee expert. It's a shame we can't just bash/shoot the lock off the doors.

 

While we're at it, why can't we take the hinges off doors and lift up the ladies' skirts?
