Whats with the pit in dernholm?

i dont know what to do with it

 

Are you asking how to get inside The Pits of Dernholm?

 

That's where you meet that one gnome guy... what's his name... Tollo Underhill or something like that. You can get in later in the game by insulting the guards, or you can use the back entrance/exit up to the north. Filled with a couple level 20 monsters and a bunch of crazy naked criminals.

I don't know about insulting because no matter what I do they won't throw me in. The proper way to do it is to follow the evil plot quest and then talk to the guard. Okay, maybe that's what you meant to say.

 

To get into the Pits you need to go north of Dernholm (don't use Worldmap) until you see stairs down. It's just another way into the Pits. Down there are some disarm traps, one monster (for me it was only one), and after long trip through corridors you will finally get to that halfling thief (NPC lev 30)

 

Well I didn't follow the evil path but I was curious to see what was down there. I insulted the guard and he tossed me in.

After coming back from T'sen Ang.

 

You can follow the path I wrote about at absolutely every point in the game. Even after the crash site (in the unpatched nersion, it is)

Done what? Do you mean if I took the evil path? I didn't take the evil path, in fact it probably wasn't RIGHT after I left T'sen Ang that I went to the pit, it was probably after I came back from Thanatos or Tulla.

 

I've only been in the Pits once...Troika screwed up the scripting in there...you can talk to Tollo Underhill about people and places you don't even know about (and people I didn't even know existed in the game until I talked to him about them!). Very screwed up in that way.

 

Well vast open-ended games have plenty of room for bugs and little errors that nobody caught.

 

That's why you need to follow the evil path and then go into the pit.

Ok, so you can insult the guards and get in the pit, then you just fight your way out and have the option of saving a gnome and even get him to join you if your evil... been there, done that, blah blah blah

But where and from whom do you get the quest to rescue this guy from the pit ?!?! I swear I haven't managed to trigger this one yet anywhere, maybe I need to kill some more inocents or something :grin:
