Lock Picking

I know that having a higher magickal aptitude affects the potency of some spells (just as it doesn't seem to matter much with others).
How does aptitude affect ones ability to pick locks if at all?
I would like to make a thief/mage of sorts, but want to know if I'm stuck with unlocking cantrip or if I can use lock pick with any success even though I may have a high magickal aptitude.

If you have high magickal aptitude then use Unlocking Cantripv instead.

 

I know that Unlocking Cantrip and pick locks are supposed to do the same thing, however Unlocking Cantrip attracts a lot of unwanted attention which is why I was hoping I could use pick locks instead. This is why I am trying to find out if aptitude matters for "pick lock" or if it is only based on dex+skill level+training level. Thanks though.

 

If it s under tech skills then it make use of tech aptitude. Use prowling withe Unlocking Cantrip.

Does Prowling skill affects the loudness of Unlocking Cantrip??

I found easy way for a mage - Invisibility spell. But robbed people get "hatred" aptitude and try to kill me when I cancel the spell. Moreover - they try to kill me whenever I come around, even after long time..

 

actually...this is slightly untested...body of air and unlocking cantrip...although when I casted body of air i dropped all of my stuff, which other people picked up.
