I've made some improvements to our stuck-in-the-past main page. It's now fully scalable and looks good in any resolution (the minimum is 1024x768 though). It's still a WIP, but I'm pleased with the results so far, it's so damn easier to read now. Comments? Suggestions?
Could be that I'm not used to it, but it looks strange on my rig (and I'm on 1024 x 768, being the sucker I am for low resolutions). The impression I get is that the page has become wider, but all the icons, art and stuff do not follow suit and therefore look a bit too small. The mainpage is in need of a major overhaul though, and has been for years. I'm not talking about the design so much, but we have dead links and information that is not up to date. It's been on my to-do-list for years.
I like it. I had set my TA homepage bookmark to go straight to the forums because the main page sorta reminded me of 2001. It looks pretty good even at 1920x1200.
Wooo, nice. It needs a weeny bit of work (it looks kinda weird at 1280 x 800, but that might just because I'm cursed/blessed with a widescreen laptop...), but it's a vast improvement.
You might as well. Stupid rules are made to be enforced. It's not like the main page looks really ugly now. And this topic probably wasn't the fourth from the top in this subforum when I replied to it with my feelings about the new front page.
Well, it's not that I disagree with you on the front page. Not at all. But even if the thread was the fourth on the list, it is old.
