In one of my future games I plan to play a leader of a team of gentlemen in nice suits. Sebastian and Franklin will be among them, and I would like both of them to have Long Range Pistols. Thing is, I don't plan to invest any points in gun smithy, so to craft those weapons for my followers, I'm going to need some tech manuals and two Looking-Glass Rifles. I know that the Firearms Master has one in his inventory, but is there a second one that can be found in the game?
This one's been prodding my brain since I read it. I seem to remember another one SOMEWHERE, although I know I'm probably mistaken, and have often idly reread schematics during minute-long fits of sidequest-induced pseudoboredom possibly incurring in a false memory of that particular component. I thought an enemy in his quest had one, but as I think on it I realize that doesn't make much sense. Also, I know for a fact that I've seen long-ranged pistols in a gunsmith's equipped inventory somewhere or other. If you aren't a gambler or haggler of any repute, you'll have to commit some moidah though, and I don't actually remember where I saw them. Probably Tarant, next to Wallow's Smithy (which is a chain restaurant apparently, noting its subsequent existence in, of all places, Dernholm). Edit: Turned out to be a sharp shooter's pistol. Real reliable, this guy. I'm guessing you've already explored the possibility of a follower being capable of crafting the pistols, and the only ones which come to mind as candidates are Vollinger and Sebastian, with whom I haven't much experience. Edit: Those are found schematics, dumb dumb. I never was interested in the thing, and only ever played as a gunsmith once, therefore don't really know about it or its smaller counterpart. On the topic of gunslinging, the Ashbury graveyard is a great place to trade 500 bullets for three levels in ten minutes. Fun as all hell, too.
Don't be so quick to dismiss that fine little toy. Tarant's gunsmith's Sharpshooter's Pistol's^H^H is good enough that any time I play a firearms type I fate-point-pickpocket it immediately upon first arrival. Think "Fine Pistol" with a massive to-hit bonus. We loves it, we do...
That was actually my initial plan, since I'm willing to hang out with Vollinger in that game for some time anyway. Yet the said plan changed after I glanced at the gunsmithy tech tree and noticed that the Looking-Glass Rifle is the 5th schematic, while Vollinger is only able to learn the first four.
Option 2 is to use Drogg's follower level-up patch?/upgrade? and change Vollinger's learned skills. Pretty sure there's just the 1, but I'm only basing that off of lack of information that says otherwise and not with in-depth knowledge.
