Mace of the Damned - what is the curse?

After completing the cemetary quest in Ashbury, I found an item called the "Mace of the Damned". When I equipped it what I can only describe as a little hexagram graphic appeared around my character.

I immediately unequipped the item, figuring it was cursed. I noticed no change to my stats, alignment, or magickal affinity nor was there an entry in the "curse" section of my log.

I checked the item library here at Terra Arcanum, and it lists the item as cursed. So my question is two parts -

Is the Mace of the Damned really a cursed item?

If it is, then what is the curse, because I have not noticed any ill effects?

The Stats for Mace of the Damned is:
Damage 1-10 + 15
Fatigue 1-10 + 10
20% change of nightmare (NPC´s will flee, BUT monsters won´t)
15% change for drain will
Critical miss calls 3 zombies to attack wielder.

So sell it instead of using it :smile:

 

i dont know, that summon zombie thing could be pretty handy for the ol' exp building

 

How about just hanging around in the graveyard for ages? That brings up a heap of zombies that can be killed for experience and practice :smile:.

 

What does nightmare do, BTW, to a follower in case you equip it with it?

 

Thanks for the breakdown on the Mace! I've been trying to get rid of it, but noone wants to buy it. Anyone have any ideas on who'll buy cursed items?

The various junk-dealers(there´s 1 in each town) seem to deal in .... junk! :winkmeaning items that noone else wants). So sell it to one of them, the one in Tarant especially never seems to refuse to buy anything.

 

That junk dealer on the docks buys anything except "questionable" stuff i.e. anything you've stolen that's quest-related...

Although how he knows it's stolen is beyond me...
