Ok, how do I do that? I discovered that most likely the bloody -2 to Combat skills of my Debutante doesn't allow me to get Dodge Mastery! Which is something I want.... There should be big neon flashing warning signs for those things!
Assuming reroll means to start the game all over - please, no. I am already too far ahead and I don't feel like wasting the time I have spent so far on such a thing. So... here's my idea: what if I modify the effects of current background, will the change appear ingame?
Doubtful, my guess would be the effects are applied once during character creation and all your stats are just stored in memory afterwards.
No, they are not. There were certain reasons to think otherwise: had they beed recorded it would be possible to raise it to the proper level with more points spent. And true enough, after some fiddling and tinkering I discovered how people create custom backgrounds and altered the effects of my chosen background which immediately took effect ingame allowing me to get what I wished for. I know its a little cheating, but that has never hurt anyone before
The backgrounds are loaded when Arcanum loads. If there is something wrong with the background.mes the background wont show or will have no effect in game, however if you reference a non-existent background descrition(gameback.mes) it will crash when you try to select the background. However referencing the wrong description is harmless as far as crashing the game is concerned. Tweaking the background the next time you run the game Arcanum will apply the changes to the characters.
