As an adult you lived out your dream being the gunner for the first zeppelin while your job is fairly boring you have high hopes that the military applications of armed zeppelins will come to the attention of the world’s governments. The only child of skill gunman, you learned how to shoot before you could read. Due to this you have increased Perception (+2), but decreased Intelligence (-2). You have a bonus to firearms (+2). You think most magick is trickery resulting in a penalty in magick (-1). You start with a Flintlock Pistol, leather armor, and what’s left of your last pay packet, 90 gold.} {1096}{Dime Novelist You are the writer of a series of successful dime novels supposedly about your adventures as an adventures and gunman/woman. The truth is you made all of it up and have never been outside your home city, expect for minor press tours. You were on the IFS Zephyr to Tarant hoping for new material for your latest book. Since your reputation processed you people have a good reaction (+2) to you, as well as added bonuses to Charisma (+2) and Persuasion (+2). You sadly though have never handled a gun in your life (firearms -2) and without your glasses, unfortunately lost in the crash, you have vision problems (Perception -2). Your mostly sedentary life as a writer makes physical activity difficult for you (Constitution -2 , Strength -1, Willpower -1). You start with a flintlock pistol you carry around for 'realism' and 600 gold.} {1097}{Former Prostitute You used to make your living on your back, but you final put aside enough money to start a new life in a new place. Your old Madam gave you Madam Lil's address in Tarant, in case you fall on hard times but you're determined never to go back to that life. Since your looks and charm were your trade you have a increase in beauty (+2), charisma (+1) and persuasion (+2). You spent more time in front of a mirror then with a book you suffer a penalty in intellect (-2). You also suffer a penalty in strength (-3), willpower (-1) and in weapon use (Melee -1 dodge -1). One of the half-orge bodyguards at the brothel took a shine to you and taught so you have a bonus in backstab (+1). Due to him you are very fond of half-orges. You start with the fine steel dagger your bodyguard friend gave you and 400 gold.} {1098}{Fire Witch You are novice fire Witch (magicpts +5%), who has set out from home to seek your fortune and gain more experience. You have high resistance to fire (+20), but your tendency to accidentally set things on fire when your upset or angry makes people wary of you (reaction -20 charisma -1). That last post was such a work of art that I'm glad it was posted twice. I mean, nobody is that stupid really, right? It must have been sarcastic representation of the typical idiot forum poster. More on topic: A few of those are great backgrounds! I especially like the Dime Novelist one. However, some of them are a bit overpowered, I think. The key to a good background is the balance between pros and cons.

I vote for sealing of reproductive pathway using a combination of fine gauge nonabsorbable sutures and Dermabond. Thus obstructing reproductive fluid egress. This should lead to eventual rupture, infection, sepsis and ending in a most unpleasant death.
Very creative. Quite visceral, too, but it does require a certain amount of patience on my part. I do not do patient.
Hello Kijkun, I first would congratulate you on your mod. I took the liberaty to break my lurking to post a few short messages. I don't know if you've updated your file somewhere else, but for the one I download via your link I want to say the following things: I. Some of your coding seemed off. - Main one I noticed was that to increase magic points you do so by coding a number say +1, not by percent. See for instance the vanilla 'Elvenblood' II. It would have been nice to ask for permission to add the custom backgrounds I made. I would have said yes anyway, so no biggie in principal (otherwise horrible for people unfamiliar with the coding to add them together), but still it would have been nice. III. You do not credit me at all in the read-me. I do not know if that is the joke you wish to make with 'proper credit' or just an oversight, but it would be nice to have added it. IV. I am now releasing a third version of my pack, so you may want to add your backgrounds to that version if you want to keep it all together in one mod; provided you do indeed give me the proper credit.
I do credit you in the readme: "Custom Backgrounds for Arcanum by Kijikun --------------------------------------------------- This add 7 new backgrounds to the original background and deathangles 16 custom backgrounds." I'm sorry if you find the backgrounds over powered, I mostly made this mod for my own enjoyment. I have no plans to fix them, and really am only back at the forums today about of curiosity of how A:Wip was going. I did try to contact you, and when I could not I followed the same format I saw other custom backgrounds use, crediting you and including them since your background mods are very popular. I'm sorry if this offended you, but I dislike the accusation that you were not credited.

I'm not sure what I've done wrong. No one mentioned anything when I originally posted this. I gave credit in the readme. Look, I only came back to the forum to check on the progress of A: WIP. I'm not modding anymore, I don't even have my files from the background. I'll edit out the link if its a problem. I'm sorry if I've done something wrong, but I did give him credit in the readme, no one said a thing when I original posted it almost a year ago, and I was not in any way trying to claim his work as my own. Again, I'm sorry that I seem to have broken some rule without realizing it.
I was referring to the fact that you did a gravedig, actually. Check the DATES before you post, please. Now, normally we're a lot more lenient in this section of the forum, but six months is still a bit much.
I understand hating those gravediggers who post something completely worthless that absolutely no one cares about, but what's wrong with posts like Kijikun's? Even thought the thread was long dead, we shouldn't forget that it was in the middle of the first page and - most importantly - that Kijikun is the author of this thread after all. It would be normal to wish to discuss all matters connected with this background pack of her nowhere else but here. She said that she did try to contact Deathsangel yet there was no response, which means PMing would be pointless. One of the remaining options was starting a new thread in which she would include a link to this one, all that effort in order to write just that response to Deathsangel, while the second - simply responding here. I fail to realize how choosing the first would fall under using common sense.
